My mains have nearly always been males but alts have been a mixture
(a few of my character in games)
    WoW:
    Main: Male Orc warrior
    Alt: Female Blood Elf Paladin

    Guild wars:
    Main: Male

    GW2:
Main: Female but was for RP family line of my GW main

    SWTOR:
    Main: Male
    Alt: Female

I only play females as mains if theres a roleplay storyline ive designed, my defiance character is designed to be a male survivalist

I would sometimes rather watch a movie that had a female main character, and I sometimes play female just for that reason alone. If you ever played SWTOR, the human female voice and sniper story line was so amazing I couldn't help but play that toon. But yeah I think its creepy as hell when guys do that for the sole reason to flirt with dudes for benefits.

There should be an ingame jail come to think of it...

    Full disclosure: I'm TG.
The closest I've been to hiding this from anyone is when I was hiding it from myself, and as such portrayed myself as male. I remember that when I told people I was male, most thought I was lying, even though they knew me as a male Tauren Druid. When I did 'come out', I was met by pretty much universal acceptance (and more than a few 'well that explains it').
Ever since then I've been as honest as I can be, primarily because I don't like the idea of getting to know people who, if they found that out, would instantly start making me out to be something else (namely any stereotype of a TG you can think of, though considering guys aren't exactly a turn-on, most of those are less likely to happen). Part of this is also because I did meet a lot of people I played WoW with (something like over 30 people I played regularly with, I'd guess), so the fact I was only just at the point of being honest with myself would have made real-life meetings very awkward.

I don't know if I've come across people pretending to be female, though I've certainly seen all manner of female characters be hit on. I've also had people state they want to force themselves onto me (I'm sure the word they actually used will be four asterisks in a row, and it rhymes with 'tape', not 'duck') on more than one occasion. only in WoW though, and it had nothing to do with anything other than playing a female Blood Elf. I wasn't RPing at the time, just standing in Orgrimmar, when some guy started instantly making lewd comments that culminated in the aforementioned threat.
I've also never seen anyone playing as a female avatar (or male one) flirt to get something, including myself.

Personally I hate TS and Vent. I'm not a confident speaker, hate my voice, and I'm very quiet, so often I'm drowned out to such an extent that it's not worth the hassle, not to mention there always seems to be one of 'those' in the guild that irritates no end, and even if you complain about them, someone will make an excuse for their behaviour.

One of 'those' by the way refers to any number of people I've come across. Irish Nazis that somehow managed not to be kicked out until the guild leader finally had a direct confrontation with them. I actually mean Irish and a ****, or at the very least, a Hitler-worshipping dunderhead. In another guild, it was a couple of guys that most of the girls, and people who fall under the LGBT set of initials had complained about, but were never reprimanded for it. In another it would be a general arsehole, and so on and so on.

So yeah, I nowadays play exclusively female characters for a fair few reasons, but mostly because I prefer everything about female avatars, as well as slight wish-fulfillment.

On the plus side, I've only seen a few comments in here that I should make a note to ignore the poster, so that's progress.

I won't go into what some people might suggest about a TG 'pretending' anything, or about transphobia in general, as that's not worth my time, and only lowers the intelligence of any reading it. It's also really not a discussion for such a thread.

Every mmo I play I make a female character. Usually it resembles what my wife looks like haha. She always gives me the strangest look when she asks what I'm doing and I say playing with you.

TBH this is a major reason so many PC gamers don't want VOIP "forced" on them.

why does it matter? your not here to meet people? these threads pop up on every game by some bitter kid that got fooled one to many times, just because he took some innocent words a little too serious.
