Afflicted gone?

Have to say I saw no afflicted either. But I did find 2 Wandering Hulkers, so life is good! As for the Volge, I think it will always look like there's a ton of them because people do not clear them like they clear the others. Few want to solo Volge (yes I know there are some uber-volge hunters out there who do, I tip my hat) because of that once a volge emergency pops up, it sticks around.

BTW, has anyone ever witnessed how the volge do against a Wandering Hulker? curious about that, would like to see it.

Yeah, I can do a Volge roadside alone, but before I brag on it too much I'll admit is probably more often luck and persistence than skill. Sometimes there just isn't anyone around to help, and, well....

One of the main reasons I don't much do Volge and (unvarying) Monarchs anymore is the time Vs abysmal loot drops involved.
I get a mag of ammo from a Monarch? Really?

I stand a good chance of getting a green from a Viscera, and an even odds chance of getting nothing?
Nah, pass.
My time in game is spent just doing 'stuff' with little profit, but.. Really?

I was near Colt Tower for one of them then near mine 99 then near overpass
