More accurately: we don't know, as they haven't announced anything.

Not sure if anyone knows yet, though I thought I read somewhere about one of the Devs stating that it was a possibility. I suppose it really depends on how the next gen consoles work, and whether they will offer backward compatibility or if they're going to have to code a brand new client for each.
It depends largely on the success or failure of the TV series more than anything. We know the TV series has at least two seasons going for it. However, if season 1 flops and the show is terrible it won't matter if season 2 airs or not as I doubt we'd see a PS4/Xbox720 version. Backward compatibility is also a big unknown right now.

Of course not, the same can be said for new consoles. Nothing wrong with ones we have no, nothing wrong with those from 10 years ago. People should stop being sucked in with thinking that new things are better - New Coke anyone?
