i tried to join the navy in 1993 when i graduated high school. at 5'8" 200 lbs of pure varsity football muscle i was not allowed due to asthma, severe environmental allergies and an unacceptable astigmatism.

was a different time then though. i don't think that kinda stuff matters so much anymore. my grandfather was bummed to be sure, he was a ww2 navy vet, but at least one of my cousins was able to avoid allergy/asthma genes and he's still i the navy today.

i don't see what's militaristic about this game. shooting game doesn't imply you might be a military person irl, or even be a gun nut.


i want to quote bill hicks here, because it has a curious ring of truth, even if it's not what reflects my own personal actions, but the actions fo those who say something similar but opposite.

because that's how a lot of people act.


for my own part as someone who seriously considering serving in my country's armed forces at different times, it's qutie the sacrifice that these men and women make. and to debase it with a self serving attention whoring thread like this is pretty obnoxious.
