I will not argue about politics or war in a game forum, so please take my words literally:

My respect and salutes to all who serves with compromise and will to protect the innocent. I can understand the point of view of those who hate armed conflict and mainly agree with them, may it seems a nonsense there are a vast majority of military men and women who would prefer not to risk their lives, but they do because they believe its the right thing to do.

Yet this said, this thread should be moved asap to avoid free trolling.

P.D. Sorry in advance about my english, just in case I misspelled something.

this right here is why this thread should not have been made in this forum. all you've done is work yourself up over it and start ignoring people with a difference of opinion on a subject that will always ALWAYS be politicized regardless of your original intent.

i'm sure there are plenty of lurkers who never visit the off topic forum. you post it in general and any general chat lurker with an opinion is going to pipe in.

Thanks people for keeping me entertained for half an hour with your pointless arguments, now i hope mods lock this since the thread serves no purposs being so offtopic as it is.
Also +1 for Mcdragon for having 25 posts in this topic without contributing to hes own thread at all and for not knowing how to use multi-quote/ report thread to mods actually notice it *facepalm*
please continue and have a good day.

Still... noone forced anyone to join military full time. Why the special treatment and lucks. Its not like its the only dangerous and very important job on earth.
Should we do separate thread for all of them (for ex firefighters, police, astro/cosmo/taikonauts, etc).

I'm a veteran myself, My husband still serves and I think this thread does not belong here. I suspect by the time I finish this post 2 more pages will have passed already.

I know the OP already apologized and asked for a mod to move it, but it is far too heated a topic regardless of what country you are in.

It is very disrespectful how some of the replies int his thread have represented themselves.

Please move this thread to off-topic.

I was a Supply Sergeant in the 81st Brigade Combat Team (Oregon Army National Guard). Deployed to Iraq, volunteered for Katrina assistance, played in wonderful and tropical Panama, and graduated from the Fort. Benning School of Recreational Skydiving (it was in my contract and I loved skydiving before I signed up).

I've served with members of the Japanese Civil Defense Force, the Israeli Military, The Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, and more U.S. units than I can remember. And, above all else, I can say this... A Marine can drink pretty much everyone else under the table except for a Scottish Sergeant Major.

My hat is off to all of you who have worn a uniform. This is not just for military uniforms, but any uniform where you serve a greater purpose and offer a level of self sacrifice for the common good: military, law enforcement, firefighting, public safety, paramedic. We are all brothers and sisters and I would be honored to meet and share a drink with you.
