Maybe they think this is best way to stagger the *hordes* on DLC release day. After all the new releases wont stop people buying and trying DLC , it will just delay them by days/weeks.

Either way, better news for us who are here for stability etc. The missing folk sure as hell aint going to be the make or break of Defiance, its not walking a knife edge that much.
Or the more likely reason they now have a scapegoat when they explain poor sales to the higher ups. Well boss it wasnt our fault they put us up againts SR4 and SCBL..... I mean we couodnt compete.

One thing you learn about corp america always have someone else you can blame.
    When will you learn.

Releasing the dlc the same day as two large triple a title cuts into the amount of people who will purchase the DLC. So Trion who is already in financial troubles, as can be seen by the changing of management and closure of offices and mass layoffs of personal. Decides to release this at the wrong time.

Now yes I understand some people will purchase this DLC insttead of these other titles. But enough will forgoe buying this DLC because of it. Now if you want to take the fan boy stance and throw common sense out the window. Go for it. Dont think for one second that the loss of sales because of these games won't hurt Trions bottom line.

Now when you think about that then think that the sales from this DLC and the bits sale keeps development going for Defiance. Now when you think this game will run as long as the company makes a profit from their work. The moment development cost exceeds the money coming in from sales then they cut back development. So how long do you think things will keep running at the current rate of people leaving, poor decisions by Trion and poor sales of DLC due to poor planing of deployment and delays.

Unless Trion smartens up and starts doing things right the clock is ticking. All itsgoing to ttake is this DLC performing poorly and server issues at launch. This DLC breaks the game causing down time there will be another rash of eff this game and people moving on. Sorry if you don't want to face it but Defiance is losing more people then its gaining. Oh they throw the spin doctor they have over 1million accounts registered.....60% of those havent logged on in months but hey its an account.
Oh just can't help but hurl insults. Well I shouldn't be surprised I suppose. Hope it makes you feel warm inside. I don't know maybe I live large with my money, but 10 dollars isn't the end all be all of life. Plenty of people will get the DLC regardless of other games also being released, like all the season pass holders maybe ? Perhaps some of us can afford more then one game, especially if they, I don't know, planned things out. I know, crazy thought right ?

I fail to see how holding back content will lead to them making more money somehow. When everyone has been screaming for its release. I think many can agree, it should have been sooner to not have stiff competition. However delaying it really is a non option, if they want to keep what people they still have.

Though I suppose being happy for "anything" is cause to be a fan boy. I am pleased the DLC is finally coming out. I hardly think delaying it further just because of Saints Row, is going to be a better call then releasing it.

Should it have been sooner ? Sure it should have. Could it have been larger ? Sure I suppose we all wish it was. It is, at this point, what it is, and if the game is to survive and thrive, it will need this influx of content, the sooner the better. Also the most stable on release the better.

    Yeah, really.

I don't care about it. I've never cared about it and even if something I did care about was being released at the same time I think I can handle it. People are just looking for crap to complain about. Probably SR will fill a void so they can complain less and they'll actually have time to play both games. Kind of like when I'm able to read a book and later on watch a tv show, and walk and chew gum at the same time.

I'm amazed at the level of helplessness some people have today and are willing to tell the world about. I know a guy in India who's about the only person in his village to play video games. He has to share the tv with the numerous members of his family, so his time is limited. He doesn't complain about all the things he has to do that keep him from playing games. He feels lucky to get the chance to at all. You people complaining you'll have too many games to choose from need to get a grip. Stop complaining and count your blessings or be happy with how lucky you are.

Speaking of the blame game reminds me of a story. A new guy just got promoted to Executive Producer of a game company / studio. He asked the former EP if he had any tips or words of wisdom that he could share. The old guy said, 'As a mater of fact, I have taken care of everything. I've left behind some written advice in three envelops in my top left desk drawer. When you get in big trouble open the one marked ONE and follow that advice. If you should get in trouble a second time, follow the advice in envelope TWO, and, heaven forbid, you get in trouble again, well that's what envelope THREE is for.'

Some few weeks later, the new guy IS in trouble so he opens the first envelope. It's a short note that says, 'Blame me the former boss.' The new guys does so and everything calms down.

But... eventually he's in trouble again and opens envelope TWO. Another short note saying, 'Blame the staff'. Again it works.

But, down the road, he's in trouble again. He opens the last envelope and reads, 'Dude, prepare three envelopes!'

The moral of the story is... You're OK if you haven't had to use all three envelopes yet.

I haven't played a SR game since the first one launched, and I don't have any kind of desire to play any of them presently.
