I just bought the Season pass

Yes, I DO realize that we have no clue what will be in DLC 2 thru 5 or even if the game will still be available by the time DLC 5 drops. That, plus I RARELY buy bundled DLCs...

OK, then why this time and why now. Well, it's only 30 Euros, the game NEEDS revenue to stay alive, I'm going to buy DLC 1 in any case for the Casti race, so if I were to find only 2 more DLCs I want it's break even.

And I did it now to reward Trion for finally giving us a firm date for the first DLC. So... I bit the bullet. How about you? Are you already a season pass holder? Plan to get it now? Plan to buy DLCs one at a time? Plan to NEVER spend more money with Trion?

Nope. When Trion proves that the new EP is more then just talk. The next dlc is not going to be another 4months away. I want to see how much of the content of these DLCs actualy interest me. So far making an albino elf, arena and a truck of doom minus the doom don't interest me.

Trust is earned not given. So far Trion has done nothing to actualy earn the trust of buying a season pass. I figure I might eventually buy 2-3 of the DLCs but I doubt any will be on launch day. Judging by Trions track record these DLC will be on sale in a few months anyways.
    When will you learn.

    already bought the season pass

I've been playing Defi since Day 1 (Xbox 360). About a week into the games release I bought a season pass out of pure excitement. While at first I was hating myself for such an early purchase, I think the game is starting to correct some faults.

Bought the season pass waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when DLC was first supposed to come out. Don't really care about Castithans, the truck (have you seen how bad the game lags with 2 people in a car?) or two person duels and arenas.

If it was what they said it would be at first, and I would have an armed truck and 4 player arenas, I'd be psyched. Now I just want some new story and a chance to change my character.

I got the season pass on day 1 (I had high hopes for the game). I do slightly regret buying it because I barely play anymore. Hopefully DLC1 will get me back into the game.

    *Ahem*

"I won't give them anymore of my money until I feel they deserve it"

"Defiance won't get better unless they see some type of positive revenue to prove it's worth continuing to develop for"

"But until they start developing content I want, I can't see the need to spend money on them"

"Unless there's a positive influx of cash we can't allocate anything substantial to the development process in way of expansive content"

"Trion better figure out how to get blood from a stone, cuz' until that happens I'm not budging"

"Dedicated servers require money, updating/fixing bugs requires money, keeping a team of developers requires money"

"I spend more on a cup of overpriced bellywash at the local starbucks in one day than what it would cost to plunk a few bucks here and there towards Defiance for a month and yet I still think myself an economics genius"

"I'm starting to think we shouldn't make games anymore.... Let the Koreans put up with this cr@p"

    *bows quietly*

That was my rendition of the gaming community versus the developer community. Take it for what it's worth ppl. The higher, the fewer. Nothin's for free.

    Put it this way ppl:

Go buy a car and tell me how far you get if you refuse to put any gas in it. Have fun walking. Whether you like it or not this game is a business venture and it requires dough. If you don't feel the need to offer your pittance then fine, enjoy the free ride while it lasts, but don't b!tch when the tank finally runs on "E".

^ same for the moment. If by DLC 3 we start seeing some weighty additions to the map and core content I may score the pass for future stuffs.

    Dear XXXX,

This is XXXXX again with the Xbox Customer Care Advocacy Team and I would like to say that I sincerely appreciate your previous email. The level of detail is a lot higher than most responses I get, and honestly it usually takes me multiple emails to get that much information out of a customer prior to me fully understanding the situation, so once again thank you for the amount of information you provided. Now in regards to a solution to this issue; please allow me a brief moment to explain what I have done for you.

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience the issue with the Defiance Season Pass (and game) may have caused you, but I'm more than happy to help you resolve this issue. I have already refunded the 3,200 Microsoft Points back to your account. There is one upside to this issue for you as well as the refund. Even though I refunded the Season Pass, you will have the license for the Season Pass on your Account forever. We do not remove licenses once applied under any circumstances even after refunds So, you were issued the refund by me as a one-time exception and you will still have access to the Season Pass just as you did before, including any benefits you currently have or may have coming to you from the Season Pass will still be available now and in the future. The best way to look at it is as if I simply added 3,200 points back to your account, because the Season pass license is not affected in anyway.

Your Current points balance after the refund is now XX,XXX Microsoft Points.

I would like to provide a link to our Terms of Use page, because if this issue happens again in the future we will most likely not be able to provide you a refund for the content as content is constantly being added and removed from the Xbox Live Marketplace. I highly suggest backing up any movies or content you have just for your own personal copy of everything you purchase. Please read section 2.5 regarding this matter, in the Terms of Use.

I hope this at least eases the pain of the situation a bit. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter or this email please feel free to email me directly by replying to this email, and I would be happy to continue assisting you. I hope you understand that we value your loyalty to the Xbox LIVE service and we hope that you can continue to enjoy the unique Xbox LIVE experience.

    Regards,
    XXXXX X.

While I agree that Trion needs revenue to stay alive, they need to provide something of value to earn/keep that revenue. My refund has nothing to do with how long the DLC took and everything to do with their word... or lack of words in response to bug reports in-game and on forum.
