    That's the thing with sniping. You should have complete awareness of the tactical situation before you start firing. If they get in melee range..ever... you aren't doing it right.

    So melee bonus on a sniper rifle is a complete waste. You 'should' never need it. In fact, if I get a sniper of any rarity with a bonus roll of +melee damage anything, its almost always straight to salvage. You got unlucky, that's all.

    I like Melee Damage...

    I disagree, I like having melee bonuses on almost all my weapons. Especially Rocket launchers and BMG's. You can melee attack with BMG's while they're reloading and it won't interrupt the reload. With rocket launchers, why blast em' with a rocket launcher when they're right next to you, punch em' in the face.

    Melee damage is one of the few bonuses that actually work with any weapon. I would hate to see it go.

    I can understand that not everyone feels that way, But I don't mind the melee damage or self revive bonuses.

    How is it useless on a sniper? Im telling you I have used it, and it works.

    If its your OPINION that its not your fav, fine, but it works, tested by myself.....so ya, melee + sniper = working

    I actually like the idea of melee bonuses on a charge sniper.
    Charge the weapon, use blur and bash some heads then unleash hipfire on the particle repeater with intimidation = owned.

    It was kind of worthless before, or not very practical but it's very useful now.

    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    I can possibly see that on the charge weapons. Still, I think it's worthless on regular snipers. If someone gets in that close on you, switch weapons. That's why we have that button there to do it. Like someone else said, when someone tries to sell/trade a sniper, that melee roll makes it nearly worthless. 2 melee rolls on a sniper makes it salvage.
