Most MMO games have problems, but some a worse than others. Believe it or not, but Defiance is not the worst in terms of problems. I think most console gamers don't understand how MMO games work. To expect them to always work as intended is just not realistic. The fact that MMO's get consistent updates causes more problems than other games. Introduce something new to the game, and cause a new bug. Try and fix that bug, and possibly cause something else to go wrong. Over time most things get sorted out, you just have to deal with it until then.

You are absolutely right. It is much different dealing with a single player closed system and a multiplayer feature versus a working world environment with constant player interaction.

As far as accepting failure from studios, go look at the Sony MMO line up under the Station brand. Talk about 'walking wounded'.
