Every time I try to patch 1.0261 Xbox 360

Every time I patch it,it finishes but then restarts the whole process. After like 5-10 times of patching it says patch error. How can I fix this because I actually like this game and cannot play it.


And yes I have reinstalled the game.

See that's what I was afraid of. I was afraid if I were to delete it,that it would count as deleting all save data

what version of defiance do you have? i have the walmart version: gamestop didn't do a midnight release gave the ultimate edition disc to a friend they had nothing but problems patching

I'd do it far more often than once a month. It can depend on all the other things the console has been used for-some other things leave crap in the cache.

I'm having the same issue. I deleted everything and reinstalled the game and it is still doing the same thing. I have been trying to update to a week with no luck. Sent a question to Trion no response from Trion yet. Getting pissed. Maybe this is why you can buy the game for 10 bucks now.

Well I won't say the game has not had problems but if you are on the xbox then it seems to me something is wrong with your set up or game specifically. I don't believe it can be the game in general because not everyone is having this problem.

What I'm again going to say is to make sure before doing an install to clear your system cache, shut down anything extraneous that's running or going on, like notifications and media sharing. If using wifi, switch to wired (it's possible that something is corrupting the download), check to make sure you have room on your HD. If it's an older xbox, it's possible something is wrong with the HD. There could be various things to check.

I'm just saying this because I've had other electronic devices that I had no trouble with but other people did. What it came down to is a problem with their wifi and their individual setups (some had trouble connecting to a PC and yet most did not).

I think this is a problem that some, maybe even many people encounter but not everyone, so I don't believe it is the game itself or only the game. If the patch keeps re-starting and then never will finish, make sure to go back and delete everything related to Defiance and clear your system cache.
