Hi there folks,
I understand very well that this might be the wrong place to ask this question, but should I still pre-order this game?
FrankieOnPCin1080p posted some PC gameplay of Defiance today, and it looked really enjoyable.
Mind you, I think this game is far from good looking, but if the gameplay is alright I really don't mind, I play 8-bit **** any day if it's good :P.
I kind of need a push from someone who can portray some of the good and bad things about this game.
I've been playing Battlefield 3 for a long time now, and reached a point at which it no longer excites me(I finished the multiplayer mode so to speak), despite all of its DLCs, and Battlefield 4 looks like it's gonna be too mediocre to buy for more than 20 bucks.
Honestly, Defiance looks a bit like Guild Wars 2 with guns(but uglier). I pre-ordered GW2 and were very busy in Japan during its launch and for two weeks after. When I returned, all my friends who played in the Beta with me already capped out their characters and quit the game. So I had nobody fun to play with and essentially never touched the game again. 70€ down the drain.
Now shooters are of course a different thing, I could shoot stuff all day solo if it's fun. And since we apparently also deal with humanoid, fleshy enemies in this world I could be easily satisfied with just pasting their brains across the landscape with a bolt-action sniper rifle.
This game has gore, yes?
I'm a sucker for pre-order stuffs you get for free, but can someone give me their opinion whether or not the Deluxe Edition @ Steam is worth the extra 20€?
Do boosts deplete regardless of whether you play?
Is it worth it?
Does it have a long lasting appeal?
How large is the world? Does it compare to GuildWars2?
How mature is the playerbase? Sick of the kiddies I get to deal with all day every day in Call of Duty and Battlefield.
How hard will it be to find a nice guild or at least a few buddies on EU servers?
Hope to get some helpful and inspirational replies here. Tried on the steam forums but apparently nobody there gives a damn.
Cheers~
