I wanna follow all my mates together and play somewhere together pve, not be stuck in a small party of 4.

Plus the EU and US servers are not linked so you can't play on Xbox with your US friends, as stated in their interview on DefianceCentralTV.
Yeah, because in Borderlands you can fight a massive world boss with 150 people..or do massive open world PvP with 50+ people...or various battlegrounds with 30+ people...ohh wait...you couldnt.

    From Merriam-Webster:

mas·sive·ly adverb (derived from Massive: large in amount or degree)

    From Trion:

A NEW FRONT LINE ON THE NEW FRONTIER
Join the futuristic online open-world shooter where thousands of players scour a transformed Earth competing for alien technology. Hunt alone or with others as you improve your skills and level up, unlocking powerful weapons that will help you survive the massive battles that await.
    From Merriam-Webster:

Definition of mul·ti·play·er ( more than one)

    Again from Trion:

A NEW FRONT LINE ON THE NEW FRONTIER
Join the futuristic online open-world shooter where thousands of players scour a transformed Earth competing for alien technology. Hunt alone or with others as you improve your skills and level up, unlocking powerful weapons that will help you survive the massive battles that await.
    Once more from Merriam-Webster:

    Definition of ONLINE

: connected to, served by, or available through a system and especially a computer or telecommunications system (as the Internet) <an online database>; also : done while connected to such a system <online shopping>

And one final time from Trion:

A NEW FRONT LINE ON THE NEW FRONTIER
Join the futuristic online open-world shooter where thousands of players scour a transformed Earth competing for alien technology. Hunt alone or with others as you improve your skills and level up, unlocking powerful weapons that will help you survive the massive battles that await.
I think that should clear up the OP's confusion, nicely.

The 4 person limit only applies to groups, you can still drives around with more friends(ie divide up into multiple groups and follow each other)

    1/10 for effort

Only get 1 point because people took the bait. Dig down deep next time junior.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

This game is an Open World MMO Third Person Shooter. You share your world with thousands of others. How is that like Borderlands?

You can. Where does it state otherwise?

Make some EU friends? Why would you wanna play on the US servers if you're from the EU (or vice versa), you'll get horrible +150 ping and lagg. Stay in your continent where your ping will be around 20-50 with no lagg whatsoever.
