Make sure you are allowing the keypress time inbetween presses to be counted. Sometimes the G13 is set up default style and it just looks at what you set up as literally the 3 or so keys u press and doesn't put any of the time it took you to do said keypresses.

As long as you turn on the keypress and depress times recorder then a simple macro/bind should be no biggie.

Sorry for the double post but I didn't catch this till after I posted for Dazz.

It's not that console gamers aren't considered 'real' gamers... But in the land of shooters you have to understand that you are seriously outgunned when it comes to pc gamers. It's very easy to spot the diff between a console gamer and a Pc one. Biggest clue is the circle strafing. Pc gamers been doing this since doom and wolfenstein days. To be fare I think console gamepads are the worse thing for a player to use when shootin' it up. That lil' thumbstick used for aiming... puhleaze. Mouse players will always have the edge on aim control.

So, 'no' I don't think console gamers aren't considered 'real' gamers but as far as shooters are concerned you are gonna' come up short against the PC players. Now that's not to say a great console player may not beat the hell out of a decent pc gamer in a shooter pvp setup.... But a great PC gamer will decimate anything the console crowd offers up as far as reflexes and twitch-play skill. Period. Now if console gamming tech evolves and they develop a gamer pad specificaly around shooters then who knows. But right now them lil' thumbsticks are hardly good enough and it's why you see so much of that magnetism-like autoaim in console shooters.

If you have the option to turn it off go on and do so, see how much of a difference there is when your trying to sight a headshot when the cursor isn't locking on center body mass just cuz' you got "close enough."

If I run out of ammo a, I swap to weapon b. I don't need to swap to loadout 2. I never run out of ammo for both weapons-- never. You just don't pair a sniper rifle with a launcher due to obvious ammo issues. With hellbugs, you don't just feed them bullets when you're hitting them for 4 damage. You wait for a weakpoint, then hit it.

There are encounters that seem more difficult than they really are, such as Nim, but aside from that it's very flat after you get accustomed to Dark Matter-- which does happen quickly.
It has NOTHING to do with difficulty or how good of a player you are.

It's purely a convenient way to use multiple different weapons/shields/vehicles/ego powers. There is absolutely no good reason for not having a hotkey option to select a loadout instantly like alt-1 or control-1 to switch to loadout 1.

The facts are that there is no hotkey option because console controllers cannot map more than the current options. They never planned to add keyboard support separately for the PC version.

Unfortunately, player skill and familiarity does come into it whether you like it or not. If Trion, by some divine intervention, added more challenging content, a hotkey to swap between 10 weapons and 5 completely unique sets of perks, there's little reason to even have the loadouts in the first place.

The more skilled players would play as if they had all weapons equipped at all times: doing stupid things like running up to hit something with a shotgun, swapping to detonator to blast a cluster of enemies ten yards away, then swap to a sniper rifle to pick off the snipers fifty yards away. The entire camp would be cleared in the span of 15 seconds, with each shot from all weapons optimized to the greatest bonuses the perks could handle.

Really, loadout swaps need a 5-10 second cooldown for loadouts to even matter. A choice you make in loadout to optimize one weapon needs to lock you out of an optimization for another weapon.

Where did I say that a hotkey cannot still be subject to a cooldown? Almost all other mmo's that has a function like this has a delay/cooldown that starts to run when you initiate the swap.
INFACT the way its set now with no cool down anyone with a macro function on their keyboard/mouse can switch layouts in <2 sec.

Really I think you are just argumenting for the sake of it.

The facts are that this is a console port and PC players are missing the refinement and feel of a PC game that is pretty much industry standard. (for example the mouse wheel cannot be bound to anything other than next/prev weapon)

If your on the PC the fastest way to switch between loadouts is the use of a controller.

    Start
    Y
    B

Takes less than a second to switch between.

    Or,

Have leet mouse clicking skills with keyboard/mouse.

On PC's, you've got the preset hotkeys (which you can change) and you've also got (although I don't believe its documented anywhere) F1 - F8 that correspond to your various GUI screens.

The problem with switching loadouts is that you no longer see what's happening around you (and the game - at least in my experience - has a nasty habit of spawning mobs right under me at that moment) and one of your hands has to come off the controls (WASD-left hand; mouse-right hand) to press the hot key... so it's not ideal.

I just remove myself from the area where the action is happening, calmly switch loadouts, and the re-enter. It's not worth stressing over.
