The Raptor had me excited until I found it had the speed and handling that felt inexplicably worse than the garbage truck you get for a couple missions. And the official response on the test boards was something like "It isn't supposed to be fun, it's supposed to let you put 4 people in a vehicle"
Charge blades are the first weapon in the game that actually do scaling damage based on color quality. The green freebie you get is fodder to be replaced as soon as you grind Thorn Liro rep (yay for single-player horde mode daily quests) or get lucky with a lockbox.
The "story" content is just breadcrumbs to funnel you into the aforementioned single-player horde mode missions.
TBH it seems like the only reason to get this pack is if you REALLY want to be an albino... That wears all unlocked clothing and armor 100% identical to humans anyway.
All that being said, I'm still excited for the patch, just not the parts I would have to pay for. I came to Defiance late (picked it up during Steam Summer Sale) and so the core shooter mechanics haven't worn on me yet, so I'm going to have a blast with sieges and DM arkfalls and I'll eventually get a blade from a lockbox or a friend to play around with. Cheaper weapon modding and the actual availability of decent synergy mods means I can screw around with my inventory a lot more than I could when adding a mod slot cost 70,000 freaking salvage.
It's sad that, even though it's, what, 4 months late(?) that the paid portion of this DLC still feels rushed and incomplete. Even something as simple as the stupid arena allowing co-op would have convinced me to buy it, but as it is it's a no-sale for me.
