Same page on times and time zones

When addressing down times, updates, and server upgrades, can we pease use the correct time based off of Eastern standard time? I know how to figure other time zones, but between the forums and actual time, something is wrong. People say 9:45 servers are down, yet post are as of 10:30. Very confusing...

As far as EU, can we keep them separate and use their time zones?

The developers and the game servers are in Pacific Time, not Eastern. And at present, most of the U.S. is on Daylight Savings Time, not Standard. So the times they use will naturally be PDT - Pacific Daylight Time.

As I write this, it's currently ~10:30AM PDT. That's 1:30PM Eastern Daylight Time and 6:30PM BST (British Summer Time).

people are going to use their own timezones when in discussion. I do think that instead of putting 9PST, they should put 9am (GMT -7) or what have you. Mind you that will confuse a lot of Americans

There are many sites where you can convert time zones.

    Mostly I use: www.worldtimebuddy.com
    Intuitive and easy to read.

Once you become friends with a converter, which is comfortable for you, your problem will disappear.

Game time should probably follow server time- wherever that happens to be. Its all relative, and not hard as long as its consistent so people in other time zones can figure the math. The problem is that the forum timezone seems off kilter with what I would assume the time zone of Trion servers, which I assumed were PDT.... unless I am missing something.

For example I am writing this at 1:46pm (13:46) EDT, or 10:46 PDT, yet the post shows 5:46 pm.

EDIT: So the forums are on GMT. ???

No, the forums display the timezone YOU SET FOR THEM.

If you want to change the Time display, go to Settings (at the top, beside your name), General Settings under the My Account Section on the Left menu section, scoll down to Date & Time. There is a drop down box for your to choose your plus or minus GMT.

For those that have trouble converting to Pacific time (daylight or not), set it to -8 GMT and set the Daylight Savings time to Always Detect. It'll make the times shown on the forums local to Trion's offices.
