Well what can one say, since the F2P titles have started with open betas and no character wipes till release, that have put silly thoughts in some peoples head. And to even cry and say that WE deserve early access. I have not asked for early access, and neither have I asked anyone to speak for me on the matter.

Agree that non steam users should have a chance to pre download, but apart from that then the entitlement culture and bonus's from other games (early access, keeping stuff from beta's, kisses from developers etc) are getting a bit silly now...

There is one reason, and one reason only that Defiance had no early access, and it can be summed up in one word, "Microsoft", same reason the cross console server was squashed. However, while PC users may be used to early access in mmo's it’s not a right, it's nothing more than marketing fluff to boost pre order numbers in a bid to get the game onto top ten lists and boost sales.
In little over a week, once every one has managed to log in and play all this nonsense about opening servers early will have gone, only to be replaced by posts on op weapons, broken mechanics and the end of the world.
