PS I did just post a monumental suggestion:

How about a "Hey guys, the server has crashed due too (Insert actual reason here), we are working on the problem and from what we can see at this moment, it will not be until (Insert reasonable time here) before it is back online. We appreciate that you are eager to play again and try out all of the new things, so in that light when the servers come back online everyone will be receiving. (Insert non-boost compensation package here)"

All of those technical adjectives/nouns/verbs may scramble our fragile minds. We are, after all just sheep.
Seriously though this is in fact something I don't get. As a systems engineer for a very large online service, when our service goes offline we like to get the word out (with limited but detailed information) to our customers. Amazon, Google, Microsoft all had major service impacting events over the course of the past 7 days. All were well communicated to their users. Isn't it about time gaming companies got on board?

Limited but Detailed ...... I would take that in a second from Trion (If it smacked of truth)

I would check server status about PS3 NA, which I did, and there is no mention or communication about it being down. Was also hoping to get the DLC today but once again no communication if its even going to be available today
