Update on the NA PS3 Server

As some people have beat us to the punch-- the NA PS3 platform is back up and running, with the situation as described in the first post of this thread.

Another lie the only thing live is the instance npcs and map update. There are no sieges or darkmatter arkfalls. None of the free content for the dlc or payed is available

I keep getting timed out errors. Sad to say, I was expecting something like this. At least Trion is consistent at something... unfortunately, that something is failing to deliver.

Dark matter arkfalls and seiges are happening. And I got a charge sniper from the Top Notch vender in the specials for 2500. The seige did glitch out at the end and no volge appeared for the last 5 minutes but it still gave us the rewards and the volge lmg.

8/20/13 - 6:00 PM PST At this time, the NA PS3 servers are up and open for players, with the situation described below.

Hey guys,

At this time, we are unlocking the servers for NA PS3. However, we are still experiencing a backend complication with the DLC and the PlayStation Store and are waiting to hear back from the PlayStation team to confirm and fix the problem. Our ETA on getting that response is tomorrow, so for tonight all paid Castithan Charge Pack content will be temporarily unavailable. In addition, users will not be able to purchase the DLC from the Playstation Store, as we have temporarily disabled the ability to do so - the last thing we want is for people to spend $9.99 and receive nothing.

All free content will be available to play as soon as we come back up, such as the Dark Matter arkfalls and Volge sieges.

Thanks - and if we hear anything sooner tonight we will of course let you know.

It's more than likely PSN's fault. I gather that the version of PSN that's available to PS3 and Vita users right now is just a shell, and the real deal is being worked on and overhauled in the background for the launch of the PS4. Many of the store download links have issues working, often doing nothing when you click on them to initiate a download. It's likely they are being linked to the new platform's storage servers and the linking is just horrid.

PSN has been completely horrible for the last few months, and just recently they had to fix the broken Diablo III pre-order listing, and broken code for the Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta access/preorder/early start content. PSN likely effed up the same thing with Trion's Defiance DLC. With their track record lately (pure suck), I wouldn't point the finger at Trion at all here. PSN should have it working by tomorrow, they're at least good about getting things corrected within 48 hours, or the interns who are managing PS3's PSN portal lose their jawbs. (They're all interns, that's all we get now :P )
