Loved the beta but...

I question why Trion Worlds is releasing the game for PS3 and 360. They know next gen is coming in Nov. Most gamers will be moving to PS4 and whatever crap Microsoft calls theirs this time. So not too much longer, the console versions of, what I believe will be a great game(and show) is gonna become a wasteland with no one playing it on the consoles anymore. I have no problem seeing PC version living on but I just cant see the console having much life by this time next year. I have also heard no announcements being made that they will bring this game to next gen either.

I get why they have the game coming out along with the show, I love the idea of both running side by side and helping/affecting the story out somehow on both sides. I just question their reasoning behind it for consoles. While I generally prefer my MMOs to be played on PC, I prefer my FPS/shooters on console. The sole reason I wont be getting this game, as much as I have enjoyed the beta is because come Nov. my PS3 days are pretty much done, aside from probably GTA V since they stated their not bringing it to next gen. If it was decided to bring it to next gen then I would buy it, but right now my only time with the Defiance universe was with the game and the time I enjoyed in beta and the show when it premieres later this month.

odd you would assume that as soon as the ps4 and 720 hit shelves all development and support for the previous generation would stop.

I am kind of sad they stopped production of the PS2. Sad 'cause everyone had some good times with the PS2! If not just the old funny commercials haha Sony used to be hilarious with their Ratchet & Clank commercials alone!

I am to such good times were had with that system ( Along with a few others ). Though I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later.

hehe, as long as they don't forget us and continue the support like with the PS2 and original Xbox! If they pull some shady crap like turning off Live and PSN services after a year into the new consoles, grr!

Who knows. They might if the next gen consols don't sell like they NEED to sell in the first year. Of course, a consol not selling like it needs to sell often kills a company, both Sony and Microsoft could take the hit, but boy oh boy, it would be a blow to their funds.

Defiance will maybe be the 'first draft' of a kind for console gamers.
This type of game and concept (tv show) can be popular and better suited to the next gen.

If it's only because of 'the next gen coming soon' that you won't play this game you are making a mistake in my opinion.

u do realise for 600$ u can buy an average gaming pc??? and add another 2-300 to that and u can get a pretty sick gaming pc that is if cost is the only reason ur buying a console

also consoles dont have mmos cos it doesnt have enough buttons for all the skills and what not..... it might have multiple combinatons of buttons but imagine using all those combinations tu run around and use spells and what not

only mmos that can be played on consoles are games like defiance... shooters where u dont have to worry about more than 1 skill to use


also diablo 3 isnt exactly a mmo.... becaue that would then make diablo 2 also a mmo and it would also mkae warcraft 3 a mmo.... it's just online co-op

Except for the whole thing where the next gen consols have barely anybody who knows about them, and amongst those who I've spoken too (and it's a fairly wide audience at that, thank you research projects) people aren't intending to buy them because of their tiny libraries, lack of backwards compatibility, and all of the various "anti piracy" measures stuck into them to screw with the user's ability to resell used games, not to mention insanity such as making the Kinect 2 required for the 720 to operate.

I highly doubt not alot of people know about the next gen coming out. Those who are fans will know about each console when its finally fully announced for each one. Just like PS4 3 hour announcement showing off parts of their system and games coming out for it back on Feb 20th.

Really if people's gripe and your sad excuse on next gen titles is"lack of library" is pathetic. Every system of each generation starts off with a "tiny library". If you except 100 games out by launch date you're an idiot. And quite frankly I could careless about backwards incompatibility. Thats why smart gamers will keep their other systems incase they want to play older games. Also I have no issue with inability to resell used games. I keep every single game I have ever purchased and I think those who do get rid of their games after their done with them arent real gamers. I know many people also who feel the same way. While I agree the requirement to have Kinect connected at all times is asinine, I personally wont have any issues with it since this time around I dont plan on buying Microsoft's next gen with owning all 3 of the current gen but mostly playing just PS3.
