If you have a digital order, yes. For example if you pre-ordered from steam, go to your library's Defiance section, then look to the right for the link to the key. Enter the key on the Trion website, and then you can pre-load your game.
Yeh... digital copies can preload already. Folder size is about 10.4g after preloading.
Ah, I bought from GMG and I have already bound my key to my account.
I can't log into the client and start downloading, says I'm not entitled to play.
I purchased it from Trion, I could download the 10 meg setup file but if you try and log in and download it and it tells you your account is not entitled to play Defiance.
Has anyone actually been able to pre download it that got it anywhere else but through Steam?
Strange, I would have thought that Trion's version would let you download already; especially since they had made mention of contacting vendors so that people could download it early.

Go to Trion
Change your password (even using the same one)
Then try again
Another possible fix is signing up for the TrionWorlds Newsletter. It worked for some people. But neither works 100%
I believe there is already a thread on this topic. They will be authorizing people in waves up until launch.
