I see no reason more content shouldn't cost money. It's not like you have to pay it. Sure maybe you didn't know you wouldn't like it, but all we have to do is hold off a week and check the comments. Then if you don't like the comments... don't buy it!

As long as all the bug fixes mentioned aren't part of the new pack. That would be bad. It was unclear to me how they were working that.

Then again when I worked unix, we regularily only fixed bugs in the 'next release' which you had to pay for.... but not critical bugs its true.

Here are my finding for CHARGE WEAPONS.

SNIPER RIFLES - VBI, VOB, or FRC? The best sniper rifles for charged weapons are VOB and FRC. Reason being is because both VOB and FRC are the only rifles that do not recoil like crazy when shooting charged bullets/plasma. It is much quicker to use regular sniper rifles than VBI's crappy charged weapon.

SHOTGUNS - VBI, VOB, or FRC? I haven't tried out VOB's shotgun yet as I didn't receive any via loot, but I can tell you VBI's charged shotgun is a lot better than FRC's. The reason is because VBI's charged shotgun carries 2-3 more extra ammo than the FRC. VBI's shotgun causes more damage per shot along with causing more damage per charged shot. Basically, I kill faster with VBI's charged shotgun than FRC's.

PISTOLS - VBI, VOB, or FRC? Interestingly, I haven't looted a single charged pistol yet. Weird.

On a more important note, I am very angry that Volge no longer drop green or blue loot under normal circumstances. This is outrageous. Earning scrip is a lot harder these days now that Volge no longer drop any kind of loot. I never go challenge them whenever I see 'em on the streets after the patch. I'm quite mad.

PS. I have to agree with OP. The Raptor is slow as hell. Piss poor terrible. It's only useful if you have clan mates always playing with you. These days I prefer driving the Duni over the Challenger because Duni's extra boost power allow me to climb up steeper slopes (hills, mountains, etc).

and since it is only aesthetic, does this really even count as new content? The body models are large and non-uniform by the way.

    Pretty pretty Castithan.

It should be free. In fact Trion should send hundred of dollars worth of Defiance merchandise to every player. That is a GREAT way to make money....

    my 2c

ive been playing since day 1. my toon is pushing 5k ego.
the game was getting stale for me, pvp being both the last remaining enjoyment and a source of much frustration. some good points about the pvp hackers made in this thread. i dont use aimbot, multihacks or even aim assist and it was getting out of hand in pvp. so ill be happy if thats now more secure.

DLC... well i tore through it in a day and seems im back to the grind again already. sure theres new ways to grind but its still grinding. appreciate the massive reduction in salvage costs but it seems they have just switched currencies here. now im scraping for scrip.
charge weapons feel very so so unless ur only charging them. lack of speed making them useful mostly when targets are out of combat. was a little let down by the pump action's reload tweak, but u can easily take aim, roll, melee to stop loading so its not the end of the world.

blades are fun though i would have expected the ability to level up a skill on those... too hard to implement?
and mods? more than simple color changing? this is a weapon we are filling main and secondary slots with, shouldnt we be able to increase its effects like ALL the others? i recall reading so many interesting idea in the forums when Devs asked us for our input. has no one listened? more modded items, cars, BIKES, melee weapons...

the sieges somehow lack the excitement of the infected sieges, i mean they should never have removed those... continuity was it? yet brought the infected back at emergencies anyway...
i have enjoyed the volge sieges in that they are spread out, but you could throw a few different enemy types in there.

DM arkfalls... well, im a little lost for words on this as i am lost for things to do for half of this event. not enough darkmatter adds for the increase in population at this dlc release. this is not a challenge at all. when the engine is in the air ive found i can pretty much look away until it returns.

i see improved features and more content squeezed into the defiance world, the cost of DLC means little to me personally but this patch does feel like too little too late. its the kind of patch a console game receives.
MMO fans will be let down for lack of story development (lets face it, after the original storyline it seems theres no longer any direction or expertise at the helm), i guess i feel mixed feelings about all this. we waited a long time for little improvement.

im sorry to say that i will be spending more time in other gaming worlds until zones open up on the map and the story continues...

Or give those who bought the DLC more bits so they can buy more goodies off the store. The DLC goods are nothing but junk. Stupid junk I would never really use. The clothing isn't one bit cool, the vehicle is slow and only useful for clans, and the weapons are subpar IMO.

The raptor does suck, I don't know if they tried to calculate occupancy weight ratio vs speed(but then that wouldn't make any sense if it were only 1 occupant to be that slow), or it just came out bad. I find it silly there is a turret seating position that neither has a gun or cannot be shot out of by the weapon of the person occupying that seat. But maybe that might be a future project. I've gotten all the available charge weapons and the only charge weapons I find that are useful are the semi and bolt sniper rifles. The charge blade is god awful either the damage needs to be raised or the animations and time between each attack need to be faster. And the Volge LMG...why is this the only gun in the game in which you need to lead your target? It feels like I'm playing battlefield or Sniper Elite.

Sieges are not what I expected, at all. But I do find them useful for quickly leveling up a skill in a weapon class. Keeps me from having to run around finding little volge emergencies around the map.

I do find it funny that they fixed the skitterling spawn exploit at Big stone, but that they didn't fix the the spawn of enemies during the main quest (forgot name) where torq is setting up the small missile in front of headlands, and if you let him drop, the enemies continue spawning. They don't drop anything, but they do give character and weapon skill exp. And since there is a ammo box there you can stay there indefinitely.

For a game that has to follow a TV show and vice versa, I feel I somewhat got my 10 bucks worth of DLC. I've spent more on costumes in games that are completely free(Dekaron, Dragon's Nest, etc...) so...
I cannot believe I didn't notice I misspelled Vicious LOL. Looks like it should be pronounced "Ficus Blood" now. Imma tree killa yo!

Pre-ordered season pass on Steam for $15. I think this DLC definitely worth $3. I just don't understand why it took almost 5 months to deploy.

Now going back to APB Reloaded and GW2.

I used Torc's place to max bolt actions. longest 4 hours in gaming history :-/
but it's a pretty good farming location as its still a bit of a juggle to make it work.
didn't know they fixed big rock. but I've since decided there's no rush in levelling weapons...
if I race to max it what else would I be working towards?

Yeah, I stopped using it too once the the sieges started, they are a lot faster for weapon skill leveling, but few and far between. I just found it funny they missed that.
