Just dual boot Windows 7. If they offer Mac support at a later date, then fine. The more the merrier.

The usability of OSX, the price discrimination employed by Apple carries no bearing in this conversation and your OPINION on Apple itself shouldn't factor into the discussion. We have enough baby duck syndrome running around on the forums.

    Honestly, why should it.

Is it wrong for me to consider MAC just as a device to be used for Designing and Rendering Videos etc and not as fully working gaming PC or even a PC?

I mean i never considered MAC to be anywhere close to a PC, i guess the main reason for me is that because MAC works on a different OS and you have less freedom in what you can do on a MAC then a PC.

I think for MAC you are paying for a brand, for a company while with PC you can choose more of what your system need or in what way you are going to use your PC, ill never buy a MAC just because it's too expansive, you are paying for a brand and you are limited in what you can get, for example if i have a comp with 6 GB of ram and i want more i can just put that in, for MAC it's also possible but since you are limited to ONE brand because your MAC can only use that brand.

ill always be a PC guy lol

I have to laugh at the people that don't know the difference between MAC and Mac.

PC uses caps for both letters because it's an acronym using the first letter of each word, in this case 'Personal Computer'. Mac does not because it is an abbreviation of a single word, 'Macintosh'.

    Class dismissed.

My girlfriend used to own a Macbook Pro (2010 model) and paid $1,100 for it. She majors in graphic design + website designing and is attempting to get her Bachelor's of Fine Arts. The Macbook Pro has a different color scheme than Windows (it's also very hard to replicate imo, I'm sure it's not impossible) and has been known for having great designing tools. "What's the problem then?" It was never able to do a lot of the stuff she needed to do due to the bottlenecked hardware and she wasn't able to game very well cause of it (dual-booting). The price-performance ratio is too great and to even consider using it for gaming... well, you'd need to purchase a really expensive MAC ($1,500+) compared to a gaming laptop ($800 - $1,200+).

Agreed completely. lol. I'm sure converting Defiance to be usable for MAC's is difficult and they'd prefer dual-booting on the system but the problem is the hardware is such a limiting factor unless you spend big $$$. A $1,200 laptop is equal to like a $1,700 MAC/$800 laptop equal to $1,100 MAC. It's too ridiculous.

these are all Mac specific Viruses. Granted, they infect only a small amount of Macs, but that happens on a very large scale.
Sorry bout that, I live in the stone age. <--- I haven't really paid attention to MACs so I can't say I'm too knowledgeable about them but my girlfriend tells me from a designer's perspective.

And the list is longer, and will continue to grow. Because mac users think "Mac is virus free" haha, laugh every time some one tries to say that.

Macbook Pros carry the same hardware as the equivalent laptop in it's class. The price difference comes from paying for premium casing and warranty. That's where the 400+ dollar difference shines. If you drop your 800 dollar Lenovo, you ain't getting jack **** from them if you didn't spend the extra 150 dollars on accidental. (They still charge you by the way) If you did the same with a Macbook Pro, they'd exchange it no questions asked assuming it's broken to pieces. Has their warranty/CS hit the dirt recently? Yeah. I don't think they're worth the premium price anymore. It's all about expectations. I never purchase RAM/GPU/CPU upgrades from the OEM (Apple or otherwise) because I know how to work on my machines. For people where time/money isn't an issue, Macs are fantastic.

    Take your anecdotes elsewhere.

P.S. Next time don't preface an opinion with "I'm not too knowledgable" it really hurts what you have to say by completely discrediting yourself.

Haha, true.. But Mac and PC both got a MAC (or several, depending on HW)

Hmmm, pretty odd. Laptop came with a 2-year warranty and thought I needed Apple Care for the MAC? I suppose I shall take my anecdotes elsewhere since you don't find them all that amusing.

Edit: Gee, thanks GT3000 for showing me the error of my ways. I'm just sharing my experiences but apparently it became an error somewhere along the way.

True, but if you were smart and got your laptop from somewhere like Newegg, they would replace your laptop no sweat. Who actually buys from the original manufacturer anymore. heheh
