    Casual friendly?

An ex rift player here that put wayyyy too many hours into that game for his own good. However, being a competitive raider it was basically necessary to remain that way and keep up with everything.

Few questions, will this game be another one of those "whoever puts the most hours in dominates" or will an hour or two a day players be able to keep up? How fast is leveling? Are there a zillion dailies? And is the idea that a low level can play with high levels fairly accurate?(coming from the IGN video)

    Thanks.

Yeah it's gonna be alot of casual friendly u can solo or group up with random scrubs to complete missions or Arkfalls

Most important casual friendly feature, I think, is the horizontal progression. You can stay away from the game for weeks or months, and still can immediatly play with your hardcore buddies upon logging back in. No need to catch up, you'll be almost as effective as they are.

I dont think Defiance will be extremely competitive, the nature of It's gear and and skill point system means that you can max out fairly early on, so it'll probably be easy to keep up.

No one can really tell until the games been out for a while though.

that generally means it will be more competitive, at least in my definition of the word.

the game will be more skill reliant, rather than character progression reliant, so time put into play will be time training and practicing, rather than farming, ergo higher general skill level.

no, but time spent in the attempt of improving it will always have a higher chance of yielding it over time spent farming items.

and not always, as josh waitskin says, its about the efficient use of time, if used efficiently, time always does translate into progress

Epic, sounds like a happy medium between time put in and skill level; I like to be good at the start, but if I play for a while I want to feel like I'm better.

very casual friendly. it's mostly based on the skill of the player.
