On the first days of launch though, you want to minimize the # of people downloading it at once, that's why they put the restriction up in the first place.

Yeah. They could DDoS themselves bad by having the preloading being available by everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it so everyone can preload a couple of weeks after the launch when the amount of people trying to get in have escalated.

No, but people who are going to buy but haven`t yet would download it and they want to prioritize the people that already bought the game.

exactly, better to limit the # of people who can get it first, than to have everyone try it at once and get 1kb/sec

that's part of it, the other part is restricting the people who paid for it so that everyone doesn't try to get it at once and cripple the bandwidth. They allow the first thousand people who registered to download it, then a few hours later, another thousand, and hopefully most of the people in the first batch are done.

You know how most companies got rid of this restriction? By using torrents and P2P if need be.

could always try right click on the startup and choose "run as administrator" I didn't get this error but trying to help give options

I was also getting not entitled to play but I then launched the patcher from the folder then I was able to update and start downloading.
