What exactly are preorder codes?

It's so you can claim the pre-order bonuses(I am assuming you are talking about those codes).

I pre ordered from Best Buy online but for In-store pick up and they emailed me some codes. Two to be exact, I put them in already but I play xbox 360 so I doubt it will let me play the game early. Are they just to claim rewards?

I'm not sure why you got two codes, normally it's just one code that gives all pre-order goodies (cars, guns etc). If you purchased for XBOX then your actual game code will be inside the case with the disc. You'll actually need the disc to install and play the game because currently there aren't digital versions for consoles.

I got the game early in person and had a code printed off for me, which worked as a pre-order code. I also noticed a code on the back of the booklet too but haven't put that one on the site yet.

Yeah I'm not so sure why I got two codes either. In actuality I'll have 3 now because I preorder the CE from Walmart and the Standard edition from Best Buy. My walmart edition is being delayed till Monday the 8th of April! So I said F this and bought a copy from best buy that I plan on playing for a couple days then trading it in towards a game that I'm gonna buy in the future like Destiny or something.. BTW Walmarts Volter Shotgun is crazy. Personally it's my favorite pre order weapon available.
