Yes, 12:01am is the official launch time. Any other times you might come across are working off older info.

Trion is based in the US, West Coast, but they announced EDT because it is the earliest time zone in the US.
According to steam the game will unlock in 23 hours... Which should be April 2nd noon-ish.
After GMT (which would be fairest to everyone on the planet) I'd actually expect a US-based MMO to talk in terms of EST because that's probably going to be one of its biggest time zones in terms of player density. At least using EST makes a lot more sense than basing this game on something like FJT. *shrugs*
