Wrong. When I was still leveling my weapons, with a friend, came the dreaded time we had to lvlup the infector. We usually top score in coop, with our proper guns.
We went in coop, and usually had really low score with such a crappy weapon (pve). Except for a few time, were I was top score (the coop took forever). With people running with Saw and AR in my team. And that was before the saw nerf. Does it mean the infector do more DPS than a SAW in pve ? I don't think so. Those players were terribad, probably shooting their feet or something.
Also, I ended up first several time with an automatic sniper rifle, a BS weapon, and I'm really bad with scoped HS.

The only way to know if a weapon is good, is to make tests with the same player (same level of skill), and a parser. However, there are no parser, so, you just have gut feeling in the end.

As it is now, the disruptor is no more the useless weapon it was. It's still less powerful than a saw.

For fairness, to see if I was just terribly horribly wrong, I did a siege with my disruptor. I ended in 2nd place with 24k, which is crazy low for me - since I was there the whole time. With my normal siege weapon I am no less than 29k, with most finishes at 31k+ - if I was there most of the time.

Is this a definite test? lmao no, not at all. Is the disruptor as crappy as I thought it was? Also no. Would it be my choice? Maybe in some situations pending more testing (to be fair), but as it stands multiple weapons, in my hands, can out preform what this disruptor did on this run by a large margin. That said, I am also not willing to close the book on it yet, but I think this pause will prove to be still too long to allow it to keep up with some of the other weapons (especially when synergized with perks).

I'm pretty sure that 1100 is the correct number. You're firing a burst of 9 bullets every second, hence the fire rate of 9.

It does still have crappy DPS. But it has two advantages: 1) the bursts make many mobs stagger (like a shotgun) and 2) it seems to proc nano effects a lot.

I won't believe anyone who says they're doing well with one in PvP without video proof.

I'm not sure that's right, though that is what I originally thought too (as you see in my earlier post). The fire rate says 9.3 (for mine) and the damage 122 (for mine, with my other one being 128 - which I forgot I had, and since it's the vendor one I should have used that one instead), so 1134.6 + pause (1190.4 for my second one).

But, if you time it, the bursts are happening more than 1 per second, and I do believe (from previous testing) that the rate of fire is the rate that the burst it's self fires (so not burst + pause).

Now, the only reason I thought that it may actually be more than that RoF (~1100) is because it fires 3 animations (and makes 3 sounds), and if those 3 animations fire at 9.3 rounds per second, but each animation contains 3 bullets, then it's actually firing 27.9 rounds per second with a pause after. This would make more sense when considering why it hasn't gotten any dev attention (publicly) as far as buffing it goes, because this could easily put it in the 2000 -2400 dps range making it on par with some of the lower dps weapons (though it could also be more like 1600 - if the pause were the same length as the fire time).

After running a siege with it, I feel like 1100 DPS may not be right, and the above explained may be correct. I guess I could run a siege with a FRC Berzerker Shotgun to see if I can make it do the same, but because of its lack of range capabilities it would be hard to make it a fair comparison (*edit, I'll run one with the volge rifle (1363.5 dps) to test and see if I can make a sub 1500 dps weapon do ~24k).

I play PvE only and the Disruptor is one of my favorite guns in the game. A good one, modded right is one of the all around best utility guns in the game IMO. It's accurate enough to take out snipers at medium distances (the spread almost ensures of at least one critical with each burst), and in hip fire mode the spread is wide enough to easily take out small, fast moving enemies. And since it knocks back like a shotgun, the intimidation perk works with it. Great for trash mobs and, with Overcharge, the mini bosses as well.

They shame it because the other guns are as you say, "probably 2-3x the damage."

Will the Intimidation ability work with the stagger?

    Pretty much this.

Still would like to see a base critical multiplier or accuracy buff. Even with default acc bonuses and mods, it's kind of all over the place often leaving a couple rounds off their mark at mid range, further lowering it's damage potential.
