Do the ****ing Devs even read this stuff? Why the hell don't they eliminate the level numbers, colors and other **** that makes no sense? I log on look in inventory to clear stuff out and nothing makes sense so log back out and play Planet Side 2 or Blacklight Retribution. This game is a mess.

From my experience, the higher EGO level something is, the higher chance of already having mod slots on it. Which saves you time and ark salvage. Also a higher chance of synergies, etc.

This doesn't mean a lot. I used the same Frontier SAW I had when I started out as the Veteran archetype until I was in the 800's. Fully modded it up and I wrecked shop with it for a very long time. I've only just recently started getting a couple of better SAW's with nano-effects and extra tidbits that my starter gun didn't have.

I'm 1030 now and most of my gear is still in the 300's and 400's range.

Well, I can say from experience that putting a single slot into an ego 100 weapon is MUCH cheaper than slotting an ego 1250 weapon. Matter of fact, I can fully four-slot an ego 100 weapon for only slightly more than the cost to single slot an ego 1250 weapon. 12500 to single slot the higher ego weapon with it's first slot....and 15650 to four slot the ego 100 weapon.

I'm not sure, but I -think- that the weapon xp bar increases as ego levels go up, too. So you can level weapon skill faster with lower ego weapons? Can anyone confirm?

Nothing atm, but later probably? Sooner or later they need to bring new kind of guns/toys for players.

higher ego ratings on weapons allow for better bonuses to start, as well as on levelling that weapon. (now that resetting weapon xp is a salvage option, there are as yet unanswered questions as to whether or not those mastery bonuses can be reset.)

if there's more to it, I haven't seen it.

    (ego rating 3590 at present)
Mastery bonus/stat cannot be reset no matter how many times you reset a fully leveled weapon.

You just need to understand it better, it makes perfect sense I promise. I have no problem weeding things I want to sell or salvage in my inventory , multiple times in a sitting. And you can sort your inv. By level, type or name. Try cycling it, sometimes it makes it easier to go by ego level when sorting, you can go right to the bottom of the list to things most recently picked up. And if you sort frequently youll only have to go through whats newly aquired. Switch back to name or type to compare weapons of same likeness to decide what to keep if ridding any. The ego levels on weapons serve a very high purpose that would make sorting much harder if non existant. Yes it means nothing to ppl who dont understand it. Yes lower level weapons can be the same as higher levels. But its there for a reason. The level on a weapon is usually the level you were when you piccked it up, but higher levels and rarity have better chances of having synergies and bonus stats/mod slots. The system may be confusing at first , especially if you were hooked on games like borderlands and used to thier system(like I was) lol. But ego lvel on weapons has made my life much easier and once you learn to understand how usefull it can be, itll come naturally. And just because a weapon is higher ego doesnt mean it WILL have more slots unlocked or better stats......it just gives a better CHANCE of it having em. You have to sort through the garbage, thats all. One of my character thats 865 rite now, im finding lots of synergies on weapons now and 90% that I pick up that are blue or purple already have 3 mod slots unlocked and a synergy or some nice multiple stats. It saves me alot of salvage.

According to sledge, there's a chance of resetting the bonus with a reset. However I have yet to see it and I've reset numerous weapons dozens of times.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

You can't level weapon skill faster with lower EGO weapons, you'll just need to max out more of em.

Higher ego level weapons require more mastery points to cap out. Really only important if you're still leveling your weapon skill. It basically means you won't have to reset as often or switch to a new weapon as often if you don't feel like resetting.

So, if higher ego level weapons have more mastery points...they take longer to fill than lower ego level weapons? Stands to reason this is true. Therefore, lower ego level weapons WILL level weapon skill faster, as it takes less points to fill the mastery point requirement.

That being said, I'm in the market for some ego lvl 100 assault rifles and SAW's. Preferably full auto versions. Also bolt action sniper rifles.
