I doubt that Trion is doing the astro turf thing: creating the impression of public support by paying people in the public to pretend to be supportive.

As far as I can tell, they DO pay employees to appear supportive, but those employees, like Greg are clearly identified as employees. And, I'm pretty sure no Trion employees are allowed to log on the forums with any but their official account. So, IMO the folks here who are over the top in praise of the game are doing it for other than money. Maybe some people actually like Defiance?

A lot of people including myself are fed up with Trion. The forum is flooded with unhappy customers. Hey lets buy Trions new game Archeage ya right.

The game isn't totally unplayable in Trion's defense. You can log on most times, drive into rocks and fences that haven't loaded yet, then get halfway through an arkfall...then it disconnects and you get what? Nothing! Yaaaa

This game's servers are broken

This game is pretty much unplayable for 80% of it's playerbase

Trion is making no real effort to fix their broken product

Instead of fixing the broken game, Trion instead works on new DLC

Trion is just as bad as Activision and the Call of Duty servers, they don't care about their customers at all or about fixing the problems with their games.

So please explain exactly why you think Trion needs thanked for releasing a broken, rushed, unpolished product that they refuse to fix so that people can actually play the game they bought?!

Call of Duty is not run on its own server. They use players consoles as a server, thats why there is a limited # of players per match. This is also why the host "migrates". Thats their way of saving money by not having to pay to run the ammount of servers it would take to cover their peak users. Not to mention a team to debug the maps. Because the players console is the "server" someone with a jtag or similar system can mess with the code and change the game. This is also why theres infected matches. If call of duty was on a server like this game is you could litterly have teams of thousands fighting each other on huge maps.

I like playing Defiance, I only get to play for a few hours a week but its still fun. I was a little disappointed when the game first came out and a bit more so after the first "revamp" but all games have problems.
