Go through the tutorial then when you get to the main area, go under the defiance store and collect them.

When you get in game hit esc to bring up the menu and at the bottm left there will be a circle looking thing that has settings social etc... tabs. In one of those I believe its defiance store hit claim items.
the items are in the store, under claim tab.
IF you have preordered through steam, you will need to activate the 3RD CD Key given out today (may have to restart steam to see it)
If you're on PC(I see Steam) I heard that you have to go to the in-game Store and go to the "Claim" section after you register the game of some sort. I know servers are live, but the game is not officially released. That could be it too.

Bear in mind that the official launch has not arrived yet. The only reason you're in there at all is because they're working on last minute issues. Most of the rewards may not even be active until the official launch window opens.
