Slow patch download

Not sure what's going on....but the time remaining changes more often than the actual speed. I go from time remaining being 30 minutes all the way up to 2 days all within the same .12mb/s - .15mb/s window at random.

Running about 0.16 MBs in the SE US. Been dropping all day, guess as people get off work and more start to DL it is slowing it down. Something ~18-20 hours to complete. Trion is all jammed up right now.

The best part is the patcher will not resume if it loses connectivity/crashes or whatever. I just had a brown out causing my modem to lose power. The patcher restarted from the beginning, others reported the same thing with various other causes of an outage. Looks like no resume functionality, not the quality I have come to expect from Trion.

I'm downloading at an amazing 0.11 MB/S. with spikes up to 0.22MB/S, WOW! This download speed is absolutely amazing, they did a great job at getting the client out to people! //endsarcsm.

Why don't they do what most MMO's do and release the full client out to everyone, and not just a launcher were it downloads the game as a 'patch'. I know they did this with Rift, but this speed is so terrible.. I feel like I'm downloading on 56kb dialup connection.

THIS SPEED EVEN DROPS DOWN TO 0.06MB/S. in which the time to finish says 1 day and 7 hours. and I thought 20 hours at 0.11 was bad.

Reallllyyyyy curious as to the purpose of this "soft launch" in it's current state. Given how we had no idea, and it's becoming such a hassle to actually get in the game, one would expect a greater explanation.

Guys seriously launch day for any game specially a mmo is hectic if this is your first one **** because this is pretty normal and them doing a soft patch is pretty smart so they can weed out any last minute problems that they can so they can reduce the amount of cs they will have to do in the following weeks , you guys really have no clue how hard and stressful it is to make a game produce it and launch it and until you do please keep the whining to a minimum because trion worlds is doing an excellent job on this game and seems to me like their doing an even better job at trying to prevent any problems at launch , also like any game download speeds are going to be a bit crappy since they got 100's of thousand of + people trying to download/patch the game im sure they were not anticipating the load of people on their servers i mean who could since 80% of all the copies of defiance were purchased in the last week it's really kind of hard to prepare for that in such a short time , but any way Good job to trion for doing a good job and working hard FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT , and not as our slaves
