Slow patch download

The issue you linked seems different from the one I have though. Download starts and proceeds smoothly, but it seems that instead of allowing users to finish downloading whatever version of the client they started on (f.ex 51) and then download patches to get it up to date, they pull the old version off the servers, upload an entirely updated client (in this case 53) and make us start over.

Waiting it out does indeed seem like the option here, it is just getting frustrating to start a download to hope and pray it might just finish before they replace the client again. I assume the problem only pops up if you are among those who get the slow download speeds and did not pre-load.

Just FYI :
Download will resume whatever you already have downloaded. It might now show up in the bar, but a simple check of folder will show you, that whatever you already have downloaded, is still there and download will resume that.

That being said, its a bit disappointing, that they didn't make a peer-to-peer enabled patcher. Seems kinda normal these days, for mmo's. Oh well, see you tomorrow (fingers crossed)

I would appreciate if some light was shed on this issue as well. Downloading at .12mb/s at the moment. It's painful to see the time remaining, makes it seem as if I will not be playing any time soon...

I feel so sorry for you guys. I went through it all, what you are going through right now. I wish I could help further.

What most of you are now experiencing is an infinite download loop error and as far as I know there's no known fix for it yet outside of getting all the files from someone.

Believe it or not I live 10 minutes from Trion Support and had to get a USB from them with the game on it so I could even begin to review it. Now I just tried logging in after getting some other work done - and the servers are down atm with no notification or anything. My bad luck with this game has been insane.

Our only option really is to wait it out a few days, possibly next week (trust me ive been involved with worse launches like Sword of the Stars II). If you cant wait you might try the torrent (hopefully its safe) or just get a refund if possible.

If its any consolation I had fun with the game when I played it at E3, but of course I didnt really have much time with it there, but I'm hopeful it will grow into something cool.

But I must say this is completely ridiculous. A product shouldn't do this out of the box (or digitally). It was doing this loop to me during BETA, I tried reporting it but of course it came out anyway.

do you have the beta client still installed, maybe ? If so, uninstall. If not, i'd delete everything you have so far and start over fresh. Also download new version of the installer, just in case.

I expected a small anti pirate patch to verify my disk was legit but this is unacceptable. with download speeds this slow there will most likely be a corrupt packet in there which won't show up until the download is finished (0.03Mbps 4 days) meaning I have to restart the download again.

I forwarded the ports as per this post and my download went from getting 0.5mb/s to getting 5M/bs!!!!! Still not great speeds on a 76Mb line but its made the difference between not playing the game tonight and being able to play as soon as my boy goes to bed. Much love Macdeath, you've saved my gaming night!

Not sure why, but if you keep canceling and restarting the download eventually (like 1 out of 50) will connect at 3-5 mbs. worked for me three times now on different friends comps.
