US servers... around 180-240MS on average. Using a tunnelling service with reduce this even more. Here is gameply from the BETA from an Aussie point of view, its not too bad.

Actually, Trions US server site is in Dallas, Texas. But the Aussies should not much notice those few extra hops from California to Texas after already hopping the Pacific.

Don't get me wrong, I would love a local server. However, so far that never really worked out. Singapore might be the best option?!

Much less likely to be hit by some untoward natural phenomenon in EU though, unless they stuck the data centre next to mount Etna or Vesuvius

    You're welcome

I think any Aussie based gamer on the Aussie East Coast would be mad to play on EU. I have experienced 300+ MS on other MMO's on EU servers, I cant comment for WA or NZ connections. I play rift through Pingzapper and I experience MS of about 180 to the US servers and the impact on the game is minimal, but thats my opinion. As the defiance servers are in the exact same location as the RIFT servers, no doubt pingzapper will support Defiance. Pingzapper is the old Wow Tunnels.

Well as they're not in Cali like you suggested, they don't run the risk of dropping into the Pacific anytime soon.. doesn't Dallas get tornadoes and hurricanes however?
