Salvage Matrix cost changed again?!?!

Back when sledgehammer was still a CM. He said that the reset mastery has a chance of resetting the bonus. However, we all know how much stock we can put in anything he said. And despite changing my tachmag like 200 times, I have yet to see the damage roll on it change.

That's what I figured. I reset a lot of guns myself with no change. And Ive gotten rid of so many guns with worthless rolls. Would be nice if we could get at least one chance to re roll the gun after resetting it.

Bought the purple frontier battle rifle from top notch the other day. Got a revive mastery bonus. Bought another one? damage bonus baby! Funny thing, someone bought the rifle around the same time I did the first time and he got the same revive roll. The RNG in this game is just extremely terrible.

Hell, yesterday, every single weapon drop from arkfalls had outlaw synergy for like 2 hours. Was driving me crazy.

In the big scheme of things does it all really matter though?

For PvP I can understand wanting to eke out the most damage possible but not sure I see the point in PvE unless you have the need to top the damage on sieges and arkfalls.

Other than that I've kind of taken the attitude that if the stars line up right maybe I'll get two weapons of the type I like with the same synergy. Should that miracle ever happen then I'll perhaps look to getting synced mods...more as something to occupy me than any great need.

thats strange because it doesnt cost much salvage for me to reset weapon mastery purple it only cost me 5k to reset and to add a mod 1.5k.

It was the same for me a few days ago, it only cost about 5k to reset my purple but I don't know why it went back up to 10k for me....it's the same weapon. Glitch? =/

And yeah reading some other replies I think I got confused, it didn't cost 200k for a reset before DLC, it was to add mod slots.

Yeah that's crazy, you should've seen my vendor specials, 4 of the shops were carrying the same item but different nano effect hahaha talk about coincidence.

Regarding the resetting mastery bonus, they did change for me before I took a break from Defiance. I guess Sledgehammer was CM at the time. It didn't work for all weapons, such as my shotgun but it did on all my Tachmags and sniper rifles. So he wasn't wrong but after I came back from my break, it seems like they changed it so it doesn't reset the mastery.

I can only assume, that was unintentional to reset the bonus? Kind of hating it because it's already a pain in the posterior to find a weapon with the right bells and whistles you want and that mastery bonus is a real crotch kicker when it doesn't line up with the rest of the stats. But that also says a lot - that the CM probably isn't told a lot.
