Technical issues happen, especially if you are in a different environment than usual. It's definitely humbling and frustrating to have a technical issue like that when you're pressed for time, but it happens.

I wouldn't call it embarrassing, just unfortunate. Cut those two a break, they've been trying really hard to communicate more, but posts like these are just going to push them away. Nobody wants to post on a forum when people are constantly berating them.

Yeah, kind of. If you don't count the fact there's two people going through the checklist, multiple crew checking the outside of a plane as well as inside and the fact lives are in danger thus these checklists are federally mandated by the government.

Yeah, except for those, it's totally like not fully plugging in a laptop.

Greg was demoing a new Rift Raid on a lap top and the power cord wasn't plugged all the way in so it lost power during the demo. This doesn't have to be TOTALLY a career changing moment, but remember they only have 15 minutes allocated. He DOES get it back up but now they are pressed for time so he uses his GM powers to kill a boss and advance the raid... This bugged the raid...

I think they will show this new raid again this coming Friday BUT... That's like preaching to the choir. The folks who will be watching on Friday are already sold on Rift. These PAX TwitchTV spots allow them to reach out to a much larger audience. This opportunity was either wasted or destroyed because they didn't plug in the power cord... I WAS EMBARASSED. I wonder if Greg and Elizabeth were?

It was quite embarrassing. I felt a bit better when folks said the info was good during the screw up. Someone kicked the cord and our laptop eats powerif it is unplugged. It's a thousand pound Alienware.

I want to apologize that both demos had to be shortened. We originally had 30 minute slots (stuff happens in live shows and sometimes things get bumped but still - but that snafu won't happen again.) We will do encores of both shows so you guys can get a deeper look.

All-in-all I hope you enjoyed the part of the raid we showed.

I wish I'd taken more pics of the stage. There's one on twitter where Greg is setting up and he is crouching on the stairs that lead to the stage. All presenter laptops went on the floor right there so they could connect to the screens by the couch and the sound booth, or our wire coming out was sad but I don't blame anyone since the laptops are just on the darned floor. That being said, the booth was far bigger and more technical than ever before. I'm proud of how much Twitch has grown!

I am glad I had all my devices in chat so I could talk during the downtime.
