The purpose of a game's forum is to educate and be educated about the game. It's not necessarily put in place for game/additional change ideas. While you can find these in every game forum, it's something the player base just kind of does on their own. Defiance actually embraces these threads, even if there is not much they can do to implement suggested changes.
Yep, agree with this completely. PvP was an unnecessary element to this and would have worked far better if handled as the duels now are or at least somewhat. It would have been far more fun to have had instances where people find caches and fight over them-open world events so that all mechanics work the same as in the open world. They could be free for alls or even give people time to form groups to fight over the cache. I imagine a situation where everyone (or select players to keep it in smaller groups) is notified that there's an arkfall cache in their world and they race to get to it where it's a free for all or they have 1 minute to form groups to fight for it.

I think otherwise the PvP that exists should have been a completely separate and optional element-it's more like a solo pursuit in an MP environment anyway. Most contracts all but require the player ignore team efforts and the PvE game mechanics are often screwed up in PvP.

I agree with both Warduke and Indra.
I don't play PvP because it isn't fun for me. I don't care for it.
I can go an play Ghost Recon or something if I want to do that, I like Defiance for what It is to me:
A game that I can play either by myself or co-operative with friends.
I only wish that some of the things that We players like and enjoy would show up in the game like We ask for instead of some mish-mashed PvP thing that a lot of players don't seem to care for and was seemingly added as a "selling point".
I suppose that It is what It is.

For now, looking forward to GTA V and trying out FF14 ARR < Prime example of how change is good Trion. Meh.
All of this pretty much sums up my thoughts... oh well, at least the new DCUO "Sons of Trigon" content is lots of fun to play.

(Well, except for the FF14 part... I couldn't care any less about any new FF games.)

I just recently came back to DCUO expecting water to be the next power. But instead it's this celestial power?

    What gives?

I also have to say that PvP is the most broken part of this game. I really wish Trion would just drop it and focus on PvE by opening the map more etc etc...

We get infuriated when no one seems to listen to what We have to say and yet We continue to pour our time and our lives into this endeavour.
    Take....uh.....well, "Defiance", for example.
We spend hours playing the game, exploring everything. We try each and every weapon in every concievable combination, try all of the perk builds, get every vehicle, explore each and every inch of the maps that are available to us and then We break through the boundaries and go to places that We aren't meant to go. We travel on top of the Stratocarrier, We get on top of buildings in downtown San Francisco, We exploit every possible angle and every possible glitch to go everywhere and do EVERYTHING!
We come onto this forum site and then We tell each other about it all: how to do it, where to do it, what to combine, where to shoot the hulker, how to jump and cannonball and how to get an easy gold on the chicken hotshot or whatever.
I think that We know this game.
    We know what We want,
    We know what We need,
    We know what We like.
Why won't anyone listen to US?
    That is my question.
Because no one listens to people who do nothing but complain.

Management is doing a pretty good job of that already.

Honestly.... there is nothing left for me to seriously comment on here anymore. This forum has degenerated into wishful thinking, constant complaining, and unheard ideas. This, plus the new/old forum rules, has led me to the long observed conclusion that trion truly doesn't want to hear our input (only in the slightest most marginal extent), but instead, would rather see us lift our type in holy praise and wishful vespers unto their creation to the masses who have not yet purchased their product.....

    sad, but inevitable.......

I've found myself in a position to either try to be helpful in this forum, give critical feedback when needed, and encouragement when warranted, or, to remain silent, and let this one go to the backburner........

the latter is starting to look more and more appealing day by day.....alas, se la vie...
