Seriously rethinking picking up my copy tomorrow. I'm just not good with greed pricing at all.
Why would you reconsider buying the game over a completely optional feature? I mean, sure it's freaking ridiculous that they would have the audacity that they would jack prices up so much; but the game is still going to be worth playing with or without items from the bit store.

Lets not forget that they only need create it once, then recolor it numerous times to fill the store.

Because I generally do not support greed. And jacking prices up almost 400 percent in some cases is nothing but greed.

Jacking up the prices very well may not have been a case of "greed" but "need." I don't personally know Trion's budget and I can safely guess that most of the people on this form do not either. If you don't like the price hike then don't buy the stuff (joys of a capitalist market) just enjoy the game. Assuming that an increase in price is based on greed is an assumption.

Oh dear I'm seriously disappointed if this is the way it's going to be, I guess I'll use up my included UE bits, stick with my pre-order challenger and that'll be that.. the boosts are barely worth buying anyway, and I aint being gouged for cosmetics. So no extra pennies from me for at least the next 12 months as my DLC is already included too... after that, well we'll see where the game's at!

Yeah according to how they are being sold now its a 1-1 conversion, since once the bonus is gone $20=1600 bits and $20 also = 1600 microsoft points

yea i agree you dont have to buy it, but it still doesnt paint a good picture for the company in general or the future of the game if they are going to be greedy from day 1, it can be a foreshadowing of a lot of overpriced dlc in the future or the game going f2p at the first hint of trouble
