The people over at SyFy need to open their eyes and realize that if this game fails a percentage of their audience will drop. How big I don't claim to know, but I know at least 3 people that will not watch the show if they're not playing the game and I'm betting most Defiance players feel the same. The show just isn't that good on it's own IMO.

I disagree. You have to strain to find the connections between the two. The show stands stronger by itself than the game by itself and the show is better than the game.

Its hardly a significant dent in their viewership. 2mil-ish ave from the season losing 10k? Not significant to them in that respect. Comcast's 80 million dollar investment according to Forbes in this game would be a bigger chip they might find grievances to call in on asking where that money was actually appropriated. :P

Comcast (owner of Syfy) is a heavy investor in general with Trion. It isnt hard to think that they would swap notes on marketing and business models. SyFy isnt trying to be a major cable player. They're just trying to fill a niche market revenue. Comcast just diversifies the portfolio across multiple niches and that is their schtick.

The game has its issues as is the company but i for one have noticed improvements especially in the form of feedback we get.
