They spent many millions of dollars on creating what they call the Trion platform and launched their 'Red Door Initive' to get other developers to use their platform.

To show the value of the platform they decided to develop or co-develop three different MMO-genre games, an MMORPG (Rift), an MMOTPS (Defiance) and an MMORTS (End of Nations). It was ambitious but it could have worked out well IF all three of the starter games were seen as 'successful'. Well, their partner ran into big issues getting EoN ready for launch so Trion took it in-house which lead to delays and cost overruns. Defiance was rushed to market to match the schedule of the cross-media TV show. Defiance was a very ambitious concept, supported on three platforms and tied to a TV show's schedule. It was a VERY big bite to chew for a startup company.

So, IMO, Trion still wants to have the Trion Platform used by other developers. That means they NEED both Defiance AND Rift to succeed. Hence, IMO, they dare not let Defiance fail. They will do what it takes, once the Defiance team has been reconstituted in Redwood Shores, to pull this rabbit out of the hat.
I hope your right cuz I love this game

I just hope it's not too late

All I know is... if SE can pull their heads out of their @sses and throw FF14 back on the right track then there's no excuse why games like Defy can't have the same hope. I know it's not exactly a realistic hope but they should really just sit the "money" down in the back and tell them to simmer down while the devs + players fix this game. Then again, my whole idea of a benevolent philanthropist interested in saving games w/o worry to their own financial ends is a bit of a longshot in this day & age.

Oh well, back to my quiet Hammock while playing Defy. If it goes it goes, no use QQing over things out of my direct control.

Amazingly.. Dahanese replied and didn't lock the thread LOL j/k

But.. let's see what they come up with. Sure, I'm an official Trion Hater-aid imbiber now.. but I can still hold a sliver of hope down in the dark tiny recessed corner of my soul that they'll fix this thing called Defiance and we'll all jump up and down and live in happy rainbow land with the unicorns and an unlimited supply of orange sherbert and bubble gum..

Not holding my breath for it however... But, let's let the Dev's either confirm or deny our thoughts with their actions, not with the CM's words

Nothing personal Dahanese.. but the last CM really burned Trions bridges with the community for you, so hopefully you've got some good building materials and some strong nails back there to rebuild them.

Unless Trion changes their policies no CM will be appreciated by the Players.... what do they have to offer us besides propaganda, miscommunication, deflections, and dodges. Sorry Dahanese, but that is how I read every post.

This game is hemorrhaging players at an alarming rate.

I was on last night for a couple of hours and normally there would have been 15+ clan members on. There were 4..... then there was 2..... it was just sad. Friends are dwindling, hard core players are leaving, and the noobs arn't sticking around.

I want to see this game live and thrive, but Trion is going to have to realize that they need to do something NOW to salvage what players that they can.

    No Players...... No Money........No Game......
I don't know how much more simply I can put it.

If we had some honest to goodness word that whoever is in charge realizes there is a damn problem here and was actively doing something about it, I am sure most of us would be ok with that.... but we know nothing. NOTHING.... just more deflections, BS posts, screw ups, and half *** fixes.

I'm right there with ya Traveler.. even if it get's me in the crosshairs of the ban-hammer as well!

I WANT the game to succeed.. but listening to more words isn't going to get it there. Which is odd, since we're always demanding more communication from the Trion Team, but yet we say we don't want more words from them...lol

How about.. we want some HONEST answers with some HONEST follow up to the "I don't know, but I'll find out" (yes, I added the last part)

This community won't survive another b**chslap of disgust like DLC1, and it won't survive another CM who either dodges the questions entirely, refuses to answer, or flat out misdirects (ie lies) about the answer.

Balls in your court Community Team.. We want you to step up.. we NEED you to step up.. and we're here to back you up when you do!

On the Friday TwitchTV, Trick told us he would be issuing his 'State of the Game' early this week, so stay tuned.

    Yep, right there with you!
    I don't want to be anti-defi or anti-trion or anti-anything
I want to play a game I love with people that I enjoy hanging out with, but that is getting harder and harder to do.

If everything was going swimmingly, I wouldn't be in here complaining at all. I would be in the trade forums making deals, or in the game playing it. But right now..... when I can manage to get into the game, there arn't that many people on my friends list still playing and I get bored very quickly or I hard freeze or DC.....

I am one of the heads of the Defi division for my clan, I try to set an example and be there for our players, but it's getting harder and harder to fulfill that role. We have a Shadow War event tonight and I am not even sure how many people we will have, and if it will be enough to even start a SW......

Something needs to be done, and we as players only have a few options:

-Try to get our voices heard
-Shut up and carry on until the game goes away
-Walk away from the game now

I don't want to do the last two, so I will be here. Still playing when I can manage to do so, and posting what I think needs saying.

Not to derail your informative post (Which I appreciate) I will be looking forward to Trick's post.

    But.....

    That is another thing.......
Who is "In charge" of the game now.....
Is Trick the lead developer, RedAvacado????
