    I love stunlock

    I really do.

I think every enemy in game, skitterling included, should have a stun attack.

    Dearest Devs :

It has been told over and over for years and for almost all games : players hate when the only way to increase difficulty is to remove their control on their character. It's cheap and frustrating. So stop it. I don't care if an enemy can OSK me as long as I'm not perma-stunned.

    Thanks for your comprehension.
Too bad, it had such a great potential.

The number 1 rule of game development should be "Don't remove control from the player".

It pisses me off, but I'm rather sensitive since the game I played the most before coming to Defiance was ME3, and the Geth were the kings of stunlock.

Oh my god don't talk to me about that, how many time have I raged against the unholy Geth-Prime's-Triple-Stun-kthxbai...

Never raged against sync-kills, but that... Always.

Oh come on, you don't want to remember the joy of having a Geth Prime, two hunters and two bombers all in your near vicinity and your teammates are 3 bad PUG's who won't gel? I swear I've gotten up and taken a piss and come back all the time my toon was stunned. Good times!

Well, I had the chance to almost always avoid PUGs since we were a bunch of friends to play the game (you can call it a clan, even if we never considered us like that). But yes, good ol' times

It's not even quality crowd control, it's the most obnoxious implementation I have seen in any game. What kind of person designs crowd control that turns your character in the direction of the enemy? This is a shooter, and my aim is being screwed with by some stupid Dark Matter Sniper, Bulwark, Hellbug, Blacklung, Volge, or some other variety of annoying NPC. I do not need crowd control to direct me towards an enemy - if you can't locate where a mob is, you're already brain dead, there is no helping you.

This issue is further compounded by the poor implementation of Shadow Wars. I cannot count the number of times I have missed shots, and even died, because some random enemy has decided to shoot at me and turn my camera. Let's not forget there's a currently broken leash range on Volge emergencies, so there's that.

If they want to add crowd control effects for NPCs, I can think of a number of crowd control effects that wouldn't be so random and jerky in nature:
    • Add flashbangs to enemies.
    • Create charge blade NPCs that use the jump attack.
    • Create a knockdown effect for sawed-offs at close range.

There's just no reason to have the current implementation - it's irritating.
Retired. Already proved myself as a top PvP player.
Now playing games that actually have PvP.

I agree, the stun lock is about the worst thing ever. Was in one siege, all the nubs were just ignoring the bombers. Which led me to shooting them, drawing all their hate so like a million stuns came my way. Was about the most aggrivating I'd had to deal with in a siege.

The turning to face what shot you is also highly annoying, as I know what shot me, I was trying to avoid it, then it sends you all over. Try getting snipped from multiple Dark Matter snipers, it completely disorients you and kills you from near that alone.

I REALLY would love to see that. Seriously. Would be even best if you wouldn't tell if the current grenade thrown at your feet is a Frag, a Cluster or a Flash. Surprise effect
