    Mods losing their synergies

So I have been following the threads about players not being able to see the synergies on their installed mods, and also of mods losing their synergies once they are removed from the weapons. I also can view my fully synergized weapons and they are lit up indicating the correct mods are installed. However, when I try to view the individual mods in the matrix, they only show up as regular non-syn mods.

I believe I may have identified the glitch:

I have a weapon that was fully synergized. One mod had to be removed and Trion assisted me with removing this one mod. In the inventory list, this mod showed up as non-synergy. The other 3 mods in the weapon I know for a fact are still synergy, even though I cannot see the synergy. I contacted Trion again today and they gave me a mod with the right synergy. I confirmed this by viewing the mod in my inventory list; it showed the synergy. I placed the mod back into the weapon and the weapon lit up. So now I know definitively that all the mods in the weapon are the right synergy. Here is the catch:

When I look at the individual mods once again, only the "new" mod showed the synergy. The other three mods DID NOT....even though the whole weapon is lit up.

So I'm guessing that sometime between the last patch and now, installed mods had lost either their synergy or our ability to view the synergy. Moving forward, mods should be fine now. I will not make any further changes to this weapon because it will serve as my proof that all mods are the right synergy (since the weapon is lit up), but we can only see the synergy on some of them.

The problem with this, as some of you have already pointed out, is that when mods are retrieved they might as well be considered non-syn mods because the synergies cannot be viewed.

Trion has no report of this issue (probably because up to this point, nobody has figured it out), so I strongly suggest those of you who still have synergized weapons but cannot see the synergies on the mods, DO NOT RETRIEVE THE MODS...you will lose the synergy. Submit in-game tickets because Trio developers are not able to reproduce the issue (which makes sense since they are using "new" mods).

Another test: get a synergy mod today (a "new" mod) and install it on a weapon. Can you view the synergy? If so, the problem has been fixed moving forward but it still remains for those of us with synergized weapons containing mods that look like non-syns.

I will be reposting this in the General Discussion.

I wondered why this happened. Very Informative, Thanks.

This affects all of us with synergy weapons so PLEASE submit a ticket if you cannot view the synergies on the installed mods. DO NOT remove/retrieve the mods. If your weapon is lit up and you cannot see the synergies, this is your proof that the problem exists. Remember, Trion will not be fixing this at this point because nobody seems to have created tickets for the issue. If nobody speaks up, they won't know of the issue.

Plus, remember to mention that the developers obviously cannot reproduce the problem; they would be using "existing mods under the right conditions". The problem lies with mods already installed. Hence, the importance of not removing/retrieving your synergy mods on lit up weapons.

Ok....wiped now. Spent too much time trying to figure this out. I hope I have identified the problem, but it's up to the community to speak up because if it's just my ticket, Trion probably won't do much about it. As it stands, they gave me two days worth of scrip and loot boost for my troubles. Big whoop. I'm going on vacation.

Can anyone confirm that it is safe to buy/sell synergy mods from/to others without the mod losing its synergy? I'm a little afraid to do anything with mods right now.

you can buy/sell/trade and install mods all you want. this only affects mods that were on guns prior to the last patch. the synergy still lights up but you cannot see the synergy on the mod in the salvage matrix. also, if you remove them from a gun, they become non synergy mods, so leave them on your weapons.

Ok good. It seemed to me from the OP that there is a qualitative difference between 'old' and 'new' mods. I just wanted to make sure that mods obtained pre-patch ('old') will not lose their synergy after going through a transaction between two people.

Yes. I could have used different terminology. Thanks, Puddytat.

    Update from dahanese (TODAY):

    "Hey guys -

Wanted to jump in and let you know we are investigating this issue. It's already in with the team - but I wanted you to know we're working on it!"

Posted in the general forums as well. This is all that I asked for; to look at it. If it can't be fixed, alright and thanks for trying. But at least I know there was attempt.

Keeping my fingers crossed this will have a positive outcome.

This change was supposed to make the individual bonuses turn white when active, but there is a bug with that. However, it's just a display bug: the bonuses ARE being applied.

hi, still learning how all this works. what exactly do you mean that yor weapon lights up if it's fully modded with the same synergy. i apologize if it's a dumb question. thanks for the help
