i had same prob i download client from trion and had same message pop up.. did password change,apply code still didnt work , i bought game threw steam and waited for install to show up and finally did when i click to install ..click on new icon and type username/ password it work and now installing game....if this helps anybody..but still cant play till 8am >.<

That launcher note is outdated, actually. It should have been up for at least an hour or two officially. :] (the 8am message has been said to be incorrect several times)

damn after changing my password it said that my password is invalid..
using old pass would give the successful but not entitled message

When you change your password log out of your Trion account on their website. Log back in again with your new password, then try.

This fixed it for me.

OK I just fixed mine myself.

Here is what I done.

1. Made sure I applied my activation Code that comes with my box
2. I reset my password.
3. THEN logged out of my account on the Trion website.
4. Logged back into my account on the website.
5. Finally I opened the defiance.exe file and was able to begin patching.

It didn't work for me, after logging out of the website it won't log me back in with new password :<

Open the game client (defiance.exe)

Then click on "forgot Password". try changing it that way, then repeat what I told you.

In most cases THEY can not resolve it. As again, most people have only entered their Pre-Order key, as far as I can gather.

And trust me, the last thing your Management team is worried about on a Launch day is a few people not being able to log on. It's the thousands clogging up and nearly crashing your servers that worry you. Harsh as that sounds.

OK I just fixed mine myself.

This fixed my issue. Change PW then logout of your acct on the Trion website. Bam, I am patching!
