Best tip I can give on pvp for this game if you are a novice to pvp or shooter games is
wait till EGO 1000, all perk slots are opened. Not all perks though.
Also take a look at those guides for PvP the other posters have in their sig.
Good rules of thumbs can be found. Makes for an enjoyable time mostly.
Make builds accommodating to your playstyle. Good luck.

Back again!Thought of a couple other things...
Loadout slots: What Ego ratings do they unlock? I'm at Ego 350-ish and have 3 slots open. When do slots 4 and 5 open?
Weapon types: Are some types of weapons better than others? This sort of pairs with my loadout question.
Example- I have 3 different LMG/Assault Rifles that I swap in and out of for different fights. (Based on accuracy or clip size). Does it really matter in the end, what I use? How about sniper rifles? Is there's any real difference or advantage to using manual over semi auto? I'm pretty familiar with shooting games (ex-competitive), so I was only wondering if it's just a skill vs comfort thing.
Clothing!: I want more outfits and headgear. I've only found one vendor so far, and only one mission has given me an outfit. Is there somewhere, other than the bit shop, to buy clothing?

Biggest thing about sniper rifles is initial damage, refire rate and crit multiple. Typically, the slow firing have the largest initial damage, but check that crit multiplier. Other than that, for clothing, you'll want to check the pursuits. Completing Co-op map pursuits net some decent outfits, and are the easiest to get off the bat, provided you are at the minimum EGO/mission requirements to run them.
