There is more than one way to support a game my friend.

Ok that's good. You had me worried there.

And this still falls under them needing to do something to warrant me giving support. I would love to, unfortunately they give me no reason to. At this point I simply come here to see if they've actually fixed anything yet and haven't touched the game in months.

My $300 (actually $450 if you count the 3 friends that I brought over at launch, that still haven't forgiven me for wasting their money lol) is all the support they will get from me until they show me that they are worth supporting.

I see your point there; that could be confusing.

I did see that Trick said, in the MMORPG interview, that the chat would go back to the way it was.

Also, I'm new to the MMO world, but I do see a lot of posts along the line of, "this is what should have been done to begin with".

My son, who has played many MMO's (subscription and FTP) on PC, told me that the nature of these games is to continually implement changes. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, depending on one's personal POV.

Am I wrong in thinking that this game is relatively "young" as far as MMO's go?

We, and the devs certainly can't just go by the forum posts as to what is and is not good about the game. I'm sure plenty of people are playing that never visit these forums.

The contentions arent with the age of the game. People are contentious about the disingenuous nature of statements that have been made over and over again by Trion with regards to the project virtually every week for 5+ months now and the resulting condition of the game there after.

Yes, Defiance is a young game. However, there are bugs and glitches in the game as it currently stands that should have been found and fixed during alpha and beta testing. There are other persistant problems that also should have been rectified during these phases as well. The way that DLC is being implemented is also a problem, because many of these fixes are being touted (I use that word a lot) as part of the DLC, which we pay for.

In short, this is a highly polished beta test phase game that is being slowly and awkwardly fixed along side of content that we are also paying for, and they are also calling these fixes DLC.

Well, I think you've shown enough support for this game already!

EDIT: Oops, kind of messed up there.

I've supported this game to the point where I've bought two copies, one at $60 and one at $45, two $10 DLC packs and some bits to add inventory slots. I've also been directly responsible for 3 other people buying the game and the DLC not to mention inventory slots and outfits.

Now I want to see something in return. Give me story missions, give me character progression and don't break grenades or nerf anything else beyond use. Give me fixes to the UI, chat and make it easier to get into co-op missions and PvP missions. Fix Orange drops, fix horrible Orange bonus rolls, let us reset weapon mastery bonus, either remove horrible weapons from the game or at least give them something to make them worth using. Make vendor reputation something worth earning and put unique items for sale, not just the same stuff with different names.

The ball is in your court, wow me with DLC #2. Go ahead, I dare you. My wallet and I are awaiting your response.

I see your point, especially for those of you that bought the game at release.

On a side note, I love people that post 3 and 4 syllable words in correct context.

On another side note, I'm now trepidatious about posting anything since you kinda gave me the smackdown.
