So are we not getting any New Story Content in future DLC?

I've supported this game to the point where I've bought two copies, one at $60 and one at $45, two $10 DLC packs and some bits to add inventory slots. I've also been directly responsible for 3 other people buying the game and the DLC not to mention inventory slots and outfits.

Now I want to see something in return. Give me story missions, give me character progression and don't break grenades or nerf anything else beyond use. Give me fixes to the UI, chat and make it easier to get into co-op missions and PvP missions. Fix Orange drops, fix horrible Orange bonus rolls, let us reset weapon mastery bonus, either remove horrible weapons from the game or at least give them something to make them worth using. Make vendor reputation something worth earning and put unique items for sale, not just the same stuff with different names.

The ball is in your court, wow me with DLC #2. Go ahead, I dare you. My wallet and I are awaiting your response.

This is what we should be doing. Show them what we want, don't complain about what we dont have. I just picked up this game and wish I had gotten it sooner. It's a blast to play, but really needs some additional content. The queues are extremely repetitive. Trion, we understand Rift is your major moneymaker, but we are your customers too.

There are not going to be new map areas.
I've driven nearly all the way around outside the map to the north. Most of it is just ends with infinite drop-offs into the mist. Sure, I guess there's always the rogue terraformer floating about . . . .

And the other islands? Maybe if one of the DLC's included a boat or water craft? Now, that would be cool. Sea monster fights; wake jumping, etc. If those islands are even planned, though, we'll probably get a one-time fixed-path, cut scene ferry then fast-travel only afterwards.

Someone mentioned Borderlands. With Borderlands 2, the DLC's were 3 new maps with whole new stories and 2 new characters with new abilities. Coming from that to this, one can understand the disappointment.

You're not - I've maybe listened to a few recorders and skipped the rest. After having to find out about and then locate the recorders, I'm hardly in the mood to listen to them (especially having done this already now 3-4 times as new "content")

Making sure folks know it won't be paid content is quite different than touting. That's not something we'd do.

I've listened to a couple, but can't remember what any of them were about. Mostly I just find them to tick them off the list of things to do.

Only difference between then and now is we know whats going on now. Where we didn't at the beginning .


And this is not a personal attack. I also don't mean to be a prick but I am so sick of non answers, Back peddles and misleading statements.

Maybe I am from the old ways but respect and understanding are both earned in my book. And so far trion has fallen shy of them. Yet continue to ask people to blindly follow spend money and continue to hang in there.

Yet offer no real reason to do so. Stop giving the illusion of answer and offer some real answers. That in its self could do more for this game than 20 of the so called updates we have had in the past.

I'm not understanding the accusations of having to pay for fixes. The way I understand it is, they are releasing the fixes at the same time as they release the DLC's

im with you on this. im completely lost on how so many people seem to think their paying for "fixes". the dlc content codes are so large and time consuming to download to begin with, that they throw the "fixes" in with it. otherwise everyone would have patches 3-4 times a month, so i can understand how its much easier to do it while their dropping what they call content. someone else stated it in pretty good words right after your post. they throw it in there to make it look as if your getting more. but as far as paying for fixes? get real people.

i am/was a HUGE fan of this game, especially being (kinda) my first MMO. i have defiantly gotten my moneys worth, im fairly sure i got well over 400hrs in this game. but the lack of content, communication, fixes, breaks, bugs have just about gotten on my last nerve and its extremely annoying. you can consider me a noob when it comes to MMO's, but i do know the difference between (what people keep calling this) FTP vs (what it really is) BTP and then PTP.

trion seems to be so da*n focused on bringing in new players instead of keeping the player base they had from the git. im p*ssed i paid $65 for this game new, and now its $10...really wtf?, im p*ssed that i paid 500 rep points/$500k and they only refunded me $100k (and a player i play with all the time bought it after the price drop "$15k" and he received $800k refund)...really wtf?, im p*ssed that they made a awesome truck "the raptor" complete sh*t, they denied every saying it had a turret, they denied ever calling it the "truck of doom" (but liz did man up and right that wrong-so respect for that), im p*ssed they sell the raptor for $10, yet you can buy the WHOLE dlc with the raptor included for $10...really wtf?, im p*ssed the "story" line was so short and such a da*n joke. im p*ssed that before the release of dlc1, your team swore up and down that the new talk/chat/message was gonna be sooooo much better, its new and improved, everyone will love it. and here you are talking about it going back to the old way, theres issues with it, etc...really wtf?. theres a huge difference between "new" and "improved. and people often loose site of that.

that list could prob keep going. why are they "fixing" nades? if its broke, fix it. if its not broke, f*ck it fix it anyways-right trion?. trion as a business has let me down so much. i didnt give 2 flying f*cks about this game before its release, but once finding out it was 10k plus players on a console?(that which thats a lie to, even at launch, there was prob only 1k players total on a single server) hell yea i was in, then finding out new "content" every week, releasing after the shows episode airs. there were several things that had me hooked after researching. but now after playing GTA5 since launch. i look at that game and compare it to defiance and wonder...wtf were you thinking. GTA5 has done what you should of, a HUGE map, great design, multiple vehicles to drive, awesome weapons to use (even a saw), the only thing i wish that GTA had that you guys have is the 10k plus multi player. that would make that game epic.

you guys need to seriously focus on what would save your a**, what players actually want from this game (example: i use to work for a certain company that sold body kits, hoods, fenders, aero stuff for cars. we had the ability to make anything for any car. so what i would do on a certain car forum was, start a poll, allow the customers to vote on what part they wanted the most. and the parts that had the most votes, guess what, we made that part. we received more customer base because we were truly listing to the customers and we went were the money was at). how hard would it be for you guys to do a poll vs sitting at the round table and discussing what you thing is fixes "breaks to us player" and actually making the game better cuz your listing to US.

im sorry to everyone for making this such a long post, but i had to get this off my chest. and this was the right thread to do that. so thank you to the person that started this thread. Trion i truly hope you get your sh*t together, and quickly. i still have the game, havent played it since GTA and prob wont until your dlc2 drops. and that sucks. i played defiance from launch until release of GTA, every day. you need to bring your former player base back, instead of focusing on new players. those new players will eventually turn into former players, and then youll be back at square one. im already seeing it happened.

I promise to hang on and keep playing a bit longer, if Trion fires the 14 year old boy with a hyper-sexual mind and no concept of anatomy who 'created' the female Irathian versions of some of the outfits.

In what must have been a sad attempt to expose her breasts, the designer took existing outfits and planted fake-looking globes a few inches above her belly button on the drifter and lone wolf outfits...presumably because altering the 'scarf' area would have been too much trouble. Go take another good look, boys. When you see it, you won't be able to unsee it. Take it from me. That's not where our boobs go. Even fake ones.

Give me the human and Castithian versions for my female Irathian to wear, Trion. That little gesture of respect for me visavi my character would go a long way with me.
