I think coca cola is a little too extreme with that policy, totally. I knew a truck driver (for coca cola) that cringed when I'd offered him a pepsi one day. The guy literally took several steps back from the hot dog stand, saying "Dude are you tryna get me fired?!" I had no idea.

But to stay on topic, I will take the risk of getting this thread closed too.

Way back when EverQuest was still mostly run by Verant Interactive, they had forums. I distinctly remember threads like "I'm going to go play Ultima Online, who else is going?" Those threads would get deleted, though, not just closed.

I think that if you believe in your product then you need to show confidence in that product and not hide from the competition or restrict discussion around your product and the competition.

Our clan is actually having an event in defi tonight so we are still supporters of defi and spend our money on bits and DLC (well, a $10 raptor but thats a different story for another day ).

We are not trying to pull people from defi but we are saying hey defi friends, if you are going to play something else for those moments when you dont want to play defi or the servers are down for scheduled maintenance, why not play it with other defi players.

the way they have the "no advertising" worded confuses a lot of the Mods and this isn't the first time they've closed a non Defi thread for advertising another game....we complained above the Mods head and had one returned then it was deleted by another mod for the same damn thing because it seems none of the mods share info so there's no standardization when dealing with threads like that

LOL agreed, very harsh. Maybe they think everyone that plays defi lives under a rock and has no idea that there is a game (i wont mention it by name) that sold $1 billion worth of copies in 3 days. Pretty sure lots of the defi players are playing it too. Also you would think it would be a good thing that we come here to discuss it and not on that other games forums but I guess not.
