    What the f***

So I just bought some bits, and they haven't appeared, I also get a message saying "unable to buy bits, account needs updating" and I have been charged. What the actual F***!

Did you try restarting your system? Thats what I'd take from account needs updating. Though I'm not quiet sure since I'll be picking my copy up in a couple of hours. How much are bits btw?

Yep, even tried to see if it was account related and nothing. Bits are £5 for 600 and £48 for 6500 (what I bought), there is a £20 option but I can't remember what is is.

Sad to say but thing like this with digital items or purchases are sort of the norm for release days...

Basically what's going down is everyone is doing the exact same thing you did and overloading their system's ability to process so much stuff all at once... Give it a few hours and you will get whatever you bought or items you redeemed.

No matter how much testing any dev does on their in-game store during the Beta process can't account for the unknown factor of release day... Just look at Diablo 3... :/

Why would you buy bits on the first day knowing most online games have issues in the first week?

The same reason people think getting a head start means something. It's all about competition, perceived or real.

It wasn't the case of getting a head start at all, just making sure that I had spent what I wanted too before I bought anything else as there wasn't an official price for me to go on before launch.

This doesn't clarify things at all. In fact I don't understand any of it.

I wanted to buy some bits before I bought anything else from the Playstation Store as I didn't know how much I'd have left, how hard is that to understand?
