    Still no damn FOV fix?

Come on you devs, is it really that hard to implement an fov option?

Heard that the gameplay of defiance is quite enjoyable but since purchase I have been unable to plat at all due to the very restrictive fov in the game making anything over 10 minutes play extremely unpleasant.
If your idea is to forget about this and not bother putting in the effort to do what must surely be a minor job I will not even consider purchasing any more of your games no matter how well they review - this one so far has been a total waste of my hard earned money and honestly it is unacceptable for a pc game in the year of 2013.

This might only affect a minority of your players but I am sure it affects enough people that it is worthy of your attention.
I will give it another 2 months and then I will have no choice but to write to you and request to be refunded for the software you sold me that is not usable due to an issue that you failed to disclose to me at the time of purchase.

I assume to are talking about the field of view? Have you ever played a 3rd person shooter before? 3rd person shooters are always an over the shoulder view of the field, the only difference being how far behind the avatar the camera is. Since it was advertised as a 3rd person shooter, I see no problem with the FOV in the game, and any gamer familiar with 3PS will know how much of the field they would be able to see.

I don't think you understand the problem... and besides because YOU do not see any problem it doesn't exist?

I think what is trying to be said is, every game isnt like Day Z where you can shift the FOV. Now I have to come from the "Console Peasant" point-of-view but take Gears of War for example. Theres no FOV there.

Some games are static in thier FOV. and in Defiance, you dont really need to increase that due to nothing actually being That far away that is threatening to you.

Actually its backwards/broken in Defiance. What i mean is, say youre sniping and you pull 1 enemy out too far from its "Area", it will eventually return, regaining full health/shield... It may be open-world for us, but not for enemies.

So, FOV shifting really isnt any use in this game. All the combat encounters are so close, that its fine to be static.

Although, i have heard this issue brought up before, search around, you may be able to find a direct answer from Trion already.

is he talking about FOV or draw distance ? it is kinda easy for a novice gamer to confuse the two.

but in either case i agree that a first person view would be useful at times. and at the same time the draw distance at ark falls needs to be addressed because of the invisible enemies being able to shoot you bug

The game view is to darn zoomed in because of the console port. Does not matter if its in 1st or third person, if the view so zoomed in some gamers can't play without getting ill.

Trion, take a look here: FOV in Games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blZUao2jTGA

So wait, you play on PC, and don't like that the view is too zoomed in and are blaming the consoles for it? WTF?

I play on PS3, have no such issue but if I had my choice I would like to zoom out a bit. It's nowhere near nauseating though.

FOV is often limited in 3rd person view games to ensure that the player can still be snuck up on. Letting a player zoom out too far means they have a clear view of enemies attempting to flank them, without actually having to pan the camera to check. This only really matters because the game has PvP. Without PvP, it wouldn't matter because you would only be affecting your own level of immersion. But in PvP, the person with the widest range of vision has an advantage over those who don't.

Nope, PVP aint the reason for zero FOV options. Only sloppy devs when porting to PC.
