    Client changes Beta - Live : incase you were wondering

    There are none - at least none of the issues, concerns or obvious flaws are fixed, nor were there any comfortability features added and other things implemented that we asked for from day one of BETA.


    -Settings/controls still reset after each exiting of the game(this is not affecting everyone)
    -There's no option to log out to character select only(it is there now, top left)
    -Loadouts are still unable to be mapped by any key or button (you have to open the menu, select and then close)
    -Some items are still not destroyable in the inventory menu
    -You can randomly be pulled into a Shadow War match, even though you were not qued or looking for one
    -Character creation is still shallow in it's options(update : you can modify specific features, see top menu bar)
    -Some semi automatic weapons continue to reset the camera after each shot effectively snapping your zoom back and making you wait until the camera defaults before you can shoot again
    -There's no iron sights, only zoom for weapons that have no scope. Note to developers : putting a gun to your eye does not change your FOV, there is no ZOOM on firearms
    -There's still no 'zoomed' weapon sensitivity
    -There's still no toggle for scope/zoom
    -Hellbug fights and other Ark dynamic events do not drop multiple loot rewards - as promised.
    -Several vehicles continue to be unmoveable after using them once e.g. you enter it and it will not drive anywhere, however the standard ATVs do work
    -Other players/particularly in vehicles disappear randomly and pop back in.


    While we managed to cope with above in Beta, half the stuff was said to be being addressed and the other half might be considered.

    Of course the constant excuse was, it's Beta...well it's LIVE now and here we are.


    Enjoy the game as I did before, we all are; just a shame they couldn't make good on some SIMPLE features to make it even more awesome.

    -Character creation is still shallow in it's options and your hair style/color is random selected when you start a new character

    Have you found the buttons in the top left of the screen that allows you to pick hair styles, colors, noses and such?

    It's early live, and I believe they do not actually have the live build out. This looks and plays exactly like the beta build, and my guess is that's what we are running, and there will be a large patch that will take us to the actual live version sometime around 8:00 PST.

    I'm not saying that's fact, that's a guess. But you are right, NONE of the problems that I found in beta have been addressed, and as we were told the build was over 2 months old, this is completely unacceptable, UNLESS of course it is the same build, and a big patch takes care of it later, which I am fine with, because we are all technically playing the game before it was supposed to come out.

    HOWEVER, Some of what you've stated is wrong. You CAN log out to the character select screen. Also, my controls and settings have never defaulted on me. Not once, not even in beta. This is an issue with specific people or set-ups, and needs to be addressed as such, though the fact that whatever it is hasn't been fixed is still true.

    I agree wholeheartedly with everything else stated, and am hoping my theory is correct. If it isn't, I will be fairly disappointed.

    I don't know where "Logout" is taking you, but it takes me to the character select screen.

    There is a ribbon of icons at the top of the customization screen that let you choose and select beyond the simple head shape, mouth, and nose.

    So is there anything that DID change? So far i'm told the Cash Shop changed, the map is obviously unlocked further, what else? This thread does not have to be one sided (i.e. what was not fixed). Surely Trion did not sit and do nothing for the last 2 weeks?

    okay, I'm pretty sure iron sights would work better in a fps, not a tps. not sure if you have played many tps, but I can't think of any that go to iron sights when zoomed...

    Have updated list as I can see some of them are changed e.g. the character creation options were not available on my first character (which also had no preview model at the selection screen).


    Agreed there will potentially be a large patch, shame it has to work this way...

    It's short sighted to say that a MMOTPS CANNOT HAVE, like it's an unwritten rule.
    It's even worse to implement a false feature (such as a zoomed FOV), and say 'well it's all we could do since we're not ALLOWED to have iron sights, this is after all a MMOTPS!).

    However more so annoying than the lack of iron sight, is the camera reset on zoomed shots.

    I'm going to go ahead and add to my own theory here in this thread instead of making a new one, since the OP and I seem to be on the same page.

    The beta build we played a week or so ago, was supposedly over two MONTHS old, according to Trion themselves. Meaning that even before we had the beta, they had already been working on the issues we found, again, coming from their own mouths (or fingers in this case). I even wrote a thread about how it made no sense for them to do that, when any constructive feedback we could have given them may be useless, because they could very well have fixed the issue we were having, by the time we reported having it.

    As far as i can see, this build is the EXACT same build as the beta build, other than the map being totally unlocked. My personal comparisons:

    Chat still randomly malfunctions, doesn't work, or defaults to a channel you haven't used, like clan when you were using area, or vise versa.

    Arkfall lists do not scroll.

    The music that accompanies any sort of fighting or action still sometimes refuses to stop playing, even after turning off the sound completely.

    Clan admin options sometimes disappear, prompting you to have to shut the game down completely and restart to get them back.

    Major arkfalls do not give personalized loot, nor does ammo drop from major ones, as if it were still disabled. (It was apparently set like this on purpose in the beta for whatever reason, and does not appear to be any different here) Minor arkfalls drop ammo, but no loot.

    The loot and vendor tables are exactly the same, where we were told they would not be.

    In conclusion, if this build is at ALL different from the one we played in beta, they didn't do much to it. And as they noted several times it was 2 months old, there is no reason for the builds to be this similar. That's why I believe firmly it is actually the same build, and they will upgrade it later today.
