Curious about synergy

So I finally got around to customizing my weapons, and I saw in the mod shops that there were mods with extra bonuses if you matched up the synergy. Problem was, I put 2-3 grenadier mods on a LMG that had no synergy listed

I watched a somewhat-informational video about the process and realized: "oh, I'm not getting the bonus effects because it doesn't have the synergy"

I went to some faction shops and looked up purple weapons to see if I could find something for future reference, but all I saw were synergy weapons that gave a bonus for having the same primary and secondary synergy on the weapon

So, are there weapons that have synergy for mods? or do I just need to match same-synergy mods onto any old weapon?

ifs the synergy has a 1, 2, 3, and 4 below it then you have to buy the synergy mods to match that synergy like if it was assassin then you would need an assassin stock assassin barrel assassin mag and a assassin scope but if the synergy only has a 2 below it then all you need to do to activate that synergy is find a secondary gun with that same synergy like if your gun had veteran then you would need another veteran gun attached as your secondary. i hope that helps.

also if the gun only has a 2 below the synergy then all you have to do is buy NONE synergy mods for it. if it has a 1,2,3,4 below it then just find the mods for it that match that synergy.

Loadout Synergy - These are marked with a [2] and require two guns of the same synergy equiped in a single loadout.

I though the mod synergies were cumulative? You'd runlock a bonus for each mod with the matching synergy. So if you say, wanted just the first two bonuses of the synergy you'd only need to stick two synergy mods on to the weapon.

That is true, I was referring to all four bonuses in my post. The ingame view will only fully light up if you have all four, but the bunus will still apply prior to adding all four.
